Hello,
Last year for Christmas my parents purchased my sister and I annual passes. At this point, I was still living at home. I have since moved to another a state. My ID with my parent's address expired 5 months ago. I am going to Disney Friday to activate my annual pass. What are my options??

Throw yourself at their knees and beg for mercy. :lmao:

Seriously, can you get a new ID before you go? That would be the easiest. If not, I'd probably take the "innocent" route and just hand over the (expired) drivers license without any comment at all. They may not notice the date, or may not care.

Go to where you renew your license and have them update your address or bring your vehicle registration with your new address. usually you need a picture id with a state issued address, such as a tax bill, motor vehicle reg,

Are you worried because it's expired or because it has their address? If it's DVC, your parents will just need to show their DVC ID card I thought.

You can't go renew your ID card and change the address?

I think she is worried because in order to get the DVC discount, she must live with her parents. She doesn't, and the only ID (e.g. drivers license) she has that says she does is expired.

I think her only hope is that the CM won't notice the expired ID. A current ID won't allow her to redeem the ticket - she doesn't qualify. Getting a current ID with her parents address on it would be an issue for the state she lives in - possibly even fraud.

Oh, I didn't realize that you had to be living with them. I wasn't suggesting she get a new license with the old address on it. I just thought she was concerned because it was expired. I didn't realize it had to have the parent's address. Got it now.

They may not accept an expired ID. You may need to pay the differnce between a discounted and non-discounted AP. As you are no longer living at home, you are no longer entitled to the discount.

If you are not a member or not living with your member parents, you are not eligible for a DVC AP. They should give you a credit for the purchased amount towards a regular AP.

I agree that this is the policy, but it was purchased while the OP WAS living in the same address, and WAS eligible. If they had been able to activate it before moving, then there would be no issue. In all reality, I think you will be ok, as they just check the name and address. I haven't ever had anyone examine my ID. They really have only checked my name and address at a quick glance.

But it really depends on who the cast member you get that day and what they do. You could always explain that you recently moved, but purchased while you were still living at home. Worst case scenario, you get the credit and purchase a regular AP.

I believe it goes by when it is activated. Which brings up another question, if you buy a DVC AP voucher and then sell your membership before activating, what happens? I know they key your member # into the computer when activating, I assume to verify membership.

show the expired ID and hope for the best....but be prepared to pay the difference

A person who wants to to activate one or more DVC-priced AP (or PAP), whether Exchange Certificate or Voucher or will-call, must provide the following:

1. A current DVC Membership card, and

2. A state issued photo ID.

If the person is not the Member, their photo ID must have the same address as the Member's. And the Member must be present at the time of activation.

If the addresses do not match (or the Member is not with you), you will be allowed the value of the voucher toward the purchase of any ticket with an equal or higher value.

Thanks everyone. I currently have an expired ID with their address. I also renewed my license with their address, but then had to turn it in to my new state. However, I have an "abstract" from the DMV in my previous states that said I live with them, and it does not expire until 2017. Here's hoping.
