Please help convince me I will love POR

We have always stayed at CBR with the exception of one trip to CR and we love the theming and feel of CBR. We could not get it for this trip though and we are at POR.

Please tell me some of the good stuff about POR and help convince me that I WILL love it. We visited there on our last trip and the outside of the mansion rooms looked nice. The foodcourt was a bit dark for my liking though. Im used to light and airy. I really WANT to love this resort.

Dixie Landings (PO-R) was our first taste of a Disney themed hotel. We had stayed offsite twice, and at Shades Of Green prior.

We were blown away by the theming, the beautiful landscaping and the overall feel of the resort!

I felt like I was in another place entirely. It's very quiet and removed from the hustle and bustle of the WDW parks.

We stayed in Parterre Place (mansion side) and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. I hope you will too!

I also LOVE this resort. We stayed there for our honeymoon in Oct and we are going back in Sept. It was beautiful! We would go for a walk in the evenings before going back to our room. We stayed in Acadian House and it was perfect for us. The bus stop was steps from our room and it was less than a 5 min walk to the food court. We loved seeing bunnies and ducks and those cute little lizards on the sidewalks. Everybody there was wonderful and the resort was so beautiful I did not want to leave even to go on the Disney cruise we were headed for. You will love it!

We loved it too. I love the fact that it's peaceful after a busy day of touring parks and shopping. We stayed in Alligator Bayou, and absolutely loved the landscaping. We were in building 37, which is about as far from the food court as you can get, and I thought that was great. The early morning walk is beautiful. The quiet pools are wonderful, the rooms were very nice, and the staff was great.

We're going back in December. I didn't make a specific request for either section, and I'll be very pleased with either one!

If you don't know for certain, you may just want to split your stay between two resorts.
I am just thinking if you need talked into it, maybe you don't really want it. I recall the recent post from the guests from AZ who stayed at CSR and were less than impressed.
Not all theming is for everyone.
We will be arriving at POR Saturday! I have heard so much good and just like to try something new every visit.
On another site, I read not so glowing reviews about POR. (AB) -- bad housekeeping, odor, needed refurbishment, bad food at resort restaurants, etc. Funny thing is someone else posted they had stayed in the very next room, in a time frame not far from when the others stayed and didn't seem to have any problems.
I have just come to the comclusion it's part the luck of the draw and if you like the resort in the first place.

Once you drive up to the entrance you won't need to convincing that it is a real nice hotel. I stayed at DL ( don't know the new name) when they first opened and that was my first taste of a disney hotel. I've gone back again and again, it is a real nice hotel with charm and great workers willing to help in anyway they can. have a blast and enjoy

We too will be staying the POR the end of this month. This is the first time we have stayed there and are really looking forward to it. This is the first moderate resort I will be staying at so I hope the experience is a good one.

I am sure you are going to love it. The secret is to not head in with huge expectations. If you don't expect the best but end up getting the best it makes it all the better.

I wish you the best weather possible and the smallest crowds possible.
