Please help calm my fears

We have booked the Pop for the first 3 days of a trip this coming Easter break. I really think that our DD9 and DS16 will like it there. We are used to mods and the Swan, so I'm nervous about several things:

1. Hard beds. I've read a few posts saying that they are like rocks. Are they that much different from the beds at the mods?

2 Noise. We are flying, so we won't have a fan to make "white noise." We did request a quiet location, but we'll be there during the Easter break.

I think that my DD will love all the fun colors and icons, and my DS will love the Icee machine! Any suggestions or experiences that will help calm my fears are greatly appreciated!:)

We recently returned from a 2 night stay in 2 connecting rooms at POP with 5 of my family. We all loved it. No noise, beds were comfy, and we enjoyed everything about it. Get the mugs...it is so worth it!

I'll second that. I slept like a baby each of the 5 nights we were at POP, and noticed no noise. We were in the 80's away from the pool and it was great.

We stayed a pop for 10 nights and didn't have much of a noise problem at all. Just ask to be away from the pool and not on the first floor and you should be fine.
On the beds, I found it quite comfortable and I am very picky when it comes to matresses.

We was there in june/july and are going back again next month and chose pop century again. We stayed in the 50's Building 2 and just loved it. The beds were soft and never heard any noise. You and your family will love it to i am sure.

The beds at the values are the same size and IMO, the same as the beds at the mod's. The only difference is that in the mod's the beds are raised up a bit more on a platform. So don't worry about that fear. I might suggest bringing an air mattress so that one of your kids can stretch out. Maybe you and your DD could sleep in one bed, give your DH the other and your son the mattress? This will really help with the sleeping situation.

As far as noise goes, we have never really had problems with noise but we put the fan on in the bathroom. I think that Pop did have a fan. It's not as great as an air purifier to block out sound but it does help. Also just a suggestion - you could mail one to yourself at the hotel and then mail it back when you leave. The hotel will hold packages for you if you have ressies. Honestly though, we have always been so tired from the parks that we sleep pretty well no matter what.

Pop is a fun resort and your kids will like it. I think you and your DH will get a kick out of the icons and decades as well.

HTH and have a great time!

I agree with all of the other posters. We stayed there last September (had two connecting rooms), and had no problems with the beds whatsoever. We also did not notice any noise in our room. We were in the seventies building on the third floor facing the lake; very quiet. We did experience some long bus lines to the parks some mornings, but not enough that it would keep me from staying there again. :)

We were at the POP last summer, 1st floor just off the pool. The noise did not keep us up. IT DRIVES ME CRAZY when people say things about the noise.

Well, I hate to be the party pooper but we did not care for it. We could hear the upstairs toilet flushing all night long. In addition, our room was very dirty. There was even food (not ours, it was there when we arrived) in between the bed and night stand. That being said I know alot of people love it. I think we just had a bad experience so we are fans of Allstar

80's room facing the pool was loud and obnoxious.

70's room facing the lake was quiet and nice. Also, the 70's room
was a more pleasant walk- about the same distance, but to get to the buses from the 80's room most efficiently, it was necessary to cut through the parking lot.

We LOVE it! My family finds the beds SUPER comfy. We all slept like rocks.
We stayed summer of '05, summer '06 and Christmas '06 (adjoining rooms). Never once did we have an issue with noise! My grandpa yells LOUD in his sleep (loud enought to wake you up!). Grandpa stayed in opposite room of me, with my brother. Apparantly, my brother was woken up many times (even when I was still awake) and I never heard a thing.
The refillable mugs are great- all the icee, hot chocolate, coffe and soft drinks you want!

Trust me, you should enjoy it! No need to worry!!

Both of our stays, we found the beds to be very comfortable. Once in awhile, we would be able to hear another toilet flush, but we found that if you keep the bathroom door closed, it made it pretty much inaudible. We did not notice noise problems outside of the room like we did when we stayed at All Star Sports (NEVER again for us!)
go have fun and enjoy the resort. You'll love it : thumbsup2

I've stayed at POP several times (along with POFQ, CSR, CBR, BW, AKL, and WL) and have never noticed any difference in the mattresses. As far as noise I'm a very light sleeper and never travel without my little white noise machine I bought at Target several years ago. It goes into my carry on as soon as I start packing for any trip. We've never had any noise issues at POP (AKL yes, but not POP). We also always request a top floor away from the pools though.

You'll love it. I just got back from a vacation at Pop during the busy Christmas week, and my husband and I fell in love with the resort. Before our trip, I had heard about noise problems, etc, so I also was concerned. I had nothing to worry obout. The beds were comfortable, the atmosphere was fun, and I rarely heard anyone else. We too requested a quiet location and had a nice, standard room in the 70's section. My husband and I previously stayed at the Poly, but we will be staying at Pop from now on. Have fun, and look forward to a great vacation. I wish mine hadn't ended!

We flew last September and we pack two fans in a suitcase. They obviously not carry ons, but we sacrificed the some space. We were very glad we did.

Also, though not overly enchanted with the POP Century, the beds were not part of the problem.

We stayed at the Pop last year and we didn't have high expectations but let me tell you that we very much underestimated this resort. It was great! I don't remember the beds bad and I don't remember any noise except the occasional kid that ran past the door, which would happen at any hotel. Our room was clean and the grounds were very clean and manicured. The pools were nice, the food court and game room were nice as well. The transportation was better than when we stayed at WL. Don't let some people fool you, some people aren't happy unless everything is perfect! You will have a good time and your kids will have fun.

I never stayed at at moderate but the room aren't really that much bigger, so you get another sink, big deal!

Have fun!!!!!!

The noise and the beds at POP did not bother me at all. I requested a location facing the lake and it was very quiet. Yes, you can hear the turbo toilets, but generally in the morning when you are in the BR or near the sink. The beds were fine.

I didn't like how crowded it was in some of the common areas and I did not care for POP having the longest bus lines. I also didn't like the crowded pools. But that's the difference between a value and a mod. Mods feel a lot less crowded and the quiet pools are great!

That being said, I would stay value again if it meant I got a trip to Disney. I'm going to try all star music on my next trip. I hope I like it as much as POP.
