OK I will ask again, I havent' noticed any responses to my last one on this but here goes........

Want to order a cake for DS birthtday we are dining at WC but they only serve round ones with plastic characters and am hoping to find something different.

How do I do that and do you know where I should call to order.

Hoped I would have found a place online to view the different styles and decorations but I cannot find.

QAll help greatly appreciated!!! :crazy2: me trying to make some birhtday magic! party: pixiedust: :cake: :bday:

Thank you!

Call Disney Dining and asked to be connected with WCC. Explain the situation and ask if they can place a bakery order for a cake. They usually fill out a form for whatever bakery does their desserts and you can request type of cake, icing, filing, etc..

If they can't do that you can go directly to the Boardwalk bakery and order a cake. The downside to this is that you have to pick up the cake yourself and transport it to WC. We had to do this with a birthday at Yatchman when we had some communications problems getting a completely chocolate-free cake. They used a rice paper transfer on the cake with Mickey. The only problem we had was that we wanted Eeyore and the decorator at the Boardwalk Bakery said she couldn't do rice paper transfers of Pooh characters due to copyright issues. Mildly confusing, but I didn't get into it.

I think the number for the WCC is:

1-407-824-2660

They ask for at least 48 hours notice.

Calling Disney Dining is your best bet. I know there was a thread here a little bit ago when people were posting pictures of birthday cakes that they ordered. They all looked great but be prepared to shell bucks depending on how fancy you want it. Do you have a theme you were wanting? Specific characters? Flavor of cake?

What if you want a cake made for your anniversary and/or birthdays at Fulton's at Downtown Disney. Who would you call for a speciality cake? :scratchin

This was the cake we got from Boardwalk Bakery. To be honest, I thought the frosting was horrible. But, I do make and decorate cakes for a hobby so I am sure I am quite particular about my frostings.

I saw photos on another post with a photo of a beautiful cake ordered from the GF bakery. It was white and had a castle on top that looked like it was made out of white chocolate. I was impressed. Very pretty.

The photo is on the thread: Inspired by dessert thread, show us pictures of your desserts. Then go to page 5. It's a minicake.

OHHHHH don't tell me that it tasted horrible.. :scared: I too make cakes and I am VERY particular with the taste of the frosting...Did it have that yucky CRISCO taste to it?? I hope not we have to get one at WCC for DD's 6th b-day and I would hate to think her cake will taste gross and I couldn't make one for her.

Sure would be nice if they would just let me come in early and whip one up for her... :thumbsup2 at least I know it would taste good!!!

We got a $40+ cake from the GF for our son's birthday a few years ago. It was shaped like Mickey's head. The $10+ cake we got at LTT was better tasting than the GF cake. It was dry as all get out. The LTT cake was pulled from the freezer when we told them we would like a cake when we checked in for lunch. It was pretty good.

This is the cake we got from WCC, it was very good. It was supposed to be $25, but when they delivered it they said we could use it as our dessert option on the dining plan!
