Hi everyone!

I'm going to dinner at someone's house tonight and I bought a small gift for their little girl. Should I pick something up for the mother as well?

Any suggestions? I have an hour, and I'm second guessing myself. My options are limited as I'm staying in a hotel in a town I don't know well.

HELP! Should I or shouldn't I run out and get something else?

Does the hotel have a flower shop? You could get some flowers or a plant!

A host/hostess gift is always appropriate. Check your hotel gift shop or ask at the front desk is there is a florist nearby. A bottle of wine is nice, but only if you are sure they drink wine and they would like your selection. Flowers or a plant or even a box of candy is pretty safe.

THank you thank you all for your quick replies!

The hotel doesn't have anything, but I saw a bunch of garden/flower shops down the street. A plant or flowers is a great idea!

I thought about wine, but I don't think they drink!
I knew I could count on the DIS!
Thanks for the great ideas! Off to the store!

If you were coming to my house I would not feel it necessary for you to bring me something if you already bought something for my daughter....

If you can't find a plant or flowers, how about a waffle? Whenever I get invited to someone's house for dinner, I always bring them a waffle. The look of surprise and excitement on their faces is priceless. Another great gift idea is shoelaces. That is a little more personal though so I would only give those to close friends or relatives.

That is cute, Jeff!

The flowers went over well. I guess it's better to give more than not enough in a situation like that.

Thanks for your help!
