Can you make multiple ADR's for around the same time at different parks if you are not sure where you will be? What happens if you can't make it to a ressie? Is there a penalty? Please explain how it is supposed to work. TIA :hippie:

As im sure many will tell you here, it isn't fair to book multiple places for the same time. That just takes away the opportunity for someone else to get an ADR. Not only that, if Disney Dining picks up on your multiple ADR's they will cancel every single one of them.

I believe that technically you can, but I certainly don't think that's a very nice thing to do. When people book for more than one restaurant at one time, it makes it that much more difficult for everyone else to make their own ADRs. Unless it's a signature dining where they take your credit card number, you won't be penalized for not showing up to a ressie, but again, it's common curtesy to cancel if you know you're not going to make it. You can call the 407-wdw-dine and cancel even when you're there. If you're that unsure about ressies and where/what you want to eat, I suggest just making a few ADRs (at different times/days) for places you'd really like to try. Once you're at WDW, if you want to try somewhere you don't have an ADR for, either try a walk up (usually you won't have too much of a problem getting in) or you can call the reservation phone number and see if you can get in for that night or one of the remaining nights of your vacation. I've never really had a problem doing that unless it was for somewhere that's extremely popular.

If you're not sure where you'll be you have to either make 1 ADR/meal and go to where it is or make none and deal with it. It's totally unfair and selfish to make multiple ones for the same meal. Some people spend weeks trying to get one or two specific ADR's and can't because people book things they dont' plan on using.

they will cancel both the adr's if theyre for the same day and the same time. Whats to stop someone from booking 20 restaurants at the same time then?

What I do is on the days I'm not sure where we will be I try to book at non-park locations. That way we don't have to use an admission to just eat (we won't). This usually works well for us. When I make our ADRs I try to guess where we will be. Of course, things don't always work as planned and I know this going in. When I'm at WDW as soon as I know we won't be using an ADR I call to cancel it as well as to make a new one. We've always been able to get an ADR somewhere. Raglan Road, Narcoossee's, and Kona are some we have gotten last minute (day of,etc.).

So, like many have posted, don't make multiple ADRs for about the same time. You may end up losing them anyway and it's really not fair to others. There will be certain ADRs that you know you will keep, no matter what (those requiring a deposit, etc.) and there will be those that you can be more flexible on. Realize that many guests are the same as you, their plans change. People do cancel ADRs. Even the day of you can usually get an ADR somewhere nice. Of course, the earlier in the day you try, the better your chances. I remember a few year back being on the phone in the a.m. with Dining and making a change. I wanted PF and nothing was open, then she said "Oh, something just became available-looks like there was a cancellation." This just emphasizes why cancelling ADRs is so important as well as trying to get new ADRs does work.

Good luck and happy Dining!
