We have not been there in several years. We were there in 2004 and it was great. Then we stayed twice since then and they have not been such great experiences. The rooms once we walked in and the carpet on the floor was soaked from a leak which then was a little smelly and then we had a room that was really bad because of someone smoking. I know not big deal, but still was a little bummed out. Then of course staying there I get SO freaked out everytime we walk into our room that a frog or something will be following me in. :scared1: I make my DH open the door and I RUN up and in. I am such a nerd. :guilty:

However...I am excited about seeing the new pool, Olivia's and hearing that fantastic clypaso music that I just love. Taking the boat to DTD and maybe trying an event at Community Hall.

We will be there the week before Easter so I am expecting parks to be crazy crowded (we are usually there over 4th of July so we are used to it) but maybe not July hot.

What are some of your favorite things to do around the resort??

Thanks!!

Ooh, oooh, ooh...I was just there for my first DVC stay in January and loved it, in fact I am now considering buying DVC, only if I can buy OKW as my home resort...doesn't that tell ya something?

I was lucky enough to use points from a client at a really good price and wanted to truly try before I buy. I am not sure if all DVC are like OKW, but I was overly impressed. It was a more magical stay than I have ever experienced at the non-DVC resorts. Nothing specific but the staff really seemed to go above and beyond the expected magic. The grounds were well groomed. Olivia's was wonderful and the main pool area was fab! I really loved that OKW was one of the first bus stops at most parks! I really loved that Delta has resort check-in at OKW, I thought was just for Magical Express or maybe all the resorts have it and I just keep missing it.

You're gonna have a fabulous stay at OKW!!!

OKW is far and away our favorite DVC resort. Even our love of the AKV animals couldn't quell our desire to stay at OKW more! LOVE the big balcony with the table and chairs and the big round table in the great room. LOVE the seperate laundry room too and the extra large master bath. OKW does constant renovations, so it's kind of the luck of the draw if you get a freshly renovated one or not.

The new pool is really great. As a matter of fact, when we were at BCV two years ago, DD(then 4) refused to go back to SAB the second day, saying she wanted to go to the pool with the sandcastle (OKW)!

We love the relaxed atmosphere and MUCH more room. We're going back home this May and we can't wait.

BTW -- they don't have any piped-in music at OKW. The calypso music you think you hear is actually Green Tree Frogs chirping. (and if they get inside your villa, all they'll do is eat tiny buggies) The sounds resembling bongos are river otters woofing.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. We stayed in a 1 bedroom in September and it was wonderful. We ate breakfast in the room and did the dining plan so we really never used the full kitchen but it had everything we need to cook full measl. The grounds are beautiful and you really do feel like you are walking around Key West with all the pastel colors and foliage. Have a great trip.

I'm actually having OKW withdrawals! :goodvibes

Our first few DVC experiences were at OKW. I have ALWAYS loved OKW. Because we wanted to try all of the DVCs, we haven't been since Dec 2006. I told DH that next year, we're hitting OKW.

I just love...
* the balcony
* the size of the room (we get a 1-BR)
* the landscaping
* the walk over to SSR and DTD
* the theming and lush landscaping
* the full size laundry

...and the list goes on! You will have a WONDERFUL time, and if the room isn't up to par, definitely call! They should make it right for you. :thumbsup2

We own at OKW and have tried BCV and VWL, and even though we liked staying there, we love OKW. The large balcony, the quiet, nice pool, good location. We usually stay in the HH area and we sometimes take a drink back to our room and sit on our balcony. It is great. Olivia's is great, we especially like to have lunch there and sit outside, it is so nice. Have a great time.

I just got back from my very first OKW stay. Perfection! The guys at concierge were awesome!!! Booked some ressies with them, had some DDP issues that were cleared right up!

The balcony is incredible! There were 8 of us in a Grand Villa, and we ALL ate breakfast on the balcony!

The foliage and scenery is gorgeous, and what I wouldn't give for a nice 25 minute boat ride to Goofy's Candy Company right now :woohoo: :woohoo:

Have a great trip!
