Hey, Melody . . . count me in! I posted a message on your blog as well (had to post it as Anonymous since it wouldn't let me post any other way . . . I'm sure it's something I was or wasn't doing). I need to get back to being healthy again, too, so we can hopefully inspire each other! YOU CAN DO IT!
 
Good luck to you! You can do it. I lost 77 lbs about 3 1/2 years ago. I finally hit that "point" where losing the weight and taking care of myself was more important than eating that (whatever) I craved right then. However, I didn't go cold turkey from eating crap to eating healthy. I used Weight Watchers and learned to eat within my points and I slowly began to change from a really bad eating lifestyle to a somewhat healthy one. (it was less points to eat healthy!) That slow change helped me to stick with it. (that and still being able to eat a Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich for dessert and not feel guilty! The chocolate ones taste like fudge brownies to me.) Just keep with your blog and online and personal support as you will hit rough patches but if you set your mind to it, you will work through it.
 

Great blog so far! I did the same thing at the beginning of the year when I decided to change my life, and it has really helped. I have no idea if anyone is reading it, but I feel like its keeping me accountable somehow. You will also find it great to look back on as you progress and see what you found challenging, etc, and be surprised at how those things have really changed.
 
Congratulations and good luck. I read your first post and it is the perfect start. I can promise you that if you give yourself time and concentrate on eating healthy it will become second nature. Just remember food is fuel, not your friend. There is a lot of good advice and support here, so hopefully you'll stick around.
