Please Explain Room Only!

Could someone please explain this to me? Here's my exact situation:

I'm booked WL deluxe room (jr suite, it's CL) from 29 Nov - 5 Dec. I have a one-day base ticket (we're military and are using the 5-day special tickets as well) and the regular DDP.

I've called twice now, and both CMs have told me that the room discount is not available for CL rooms. I've read on here that they are.

I was already told that free dining would not apply to my room, but why wouldn't the room discount?

What do I have that would not allow the room-only discount? And, how can I remedy that?

Oh, and dh is adamant that we stay WL CL, even though a two-bedroom Beach Club Villa is available with free dining and would be cheaper than what we have now, so I don't have the option of choosing another resort, even if I wanted to (and, trust me, the BC was looking pretty good!) ...

TIA!

discounts do not cover everything, only what Disney wants to release and that could be your CL is not in the discounts just like preferred view is available and not a standard room. Discounts also vary on promotions, one year I could get a room only general public discount applied but not an AP discount for the same night.

The thing with discounts is you will need to be flexable with your discount. Keep trying for your discount as if someone has that room cat booked Disney may open that up as someone may cancel or Disney may see a room that needs to be filled and may offer a discount.

Discounts can be frustrating and hard to figure out.

Thanks for answering me. That's kinda what I was thinking, but I was afraid of missing out on a good discount, lol.

Not all Club Levels are available at all resorts. For instance for your dates, Club Level at Grand Floridian is coming up. So it's based on availability. As the PP stated...if you are flexible...you can get the discount at Club Level at another resort or maybe different dates:)

I think they may also have an issue since they booked a Jr. Suite? Suite's are often excluded from many deals.

It may be that the room discount isn't available for the room you've chosen. It might really help to be flexible about resorts, but sounds like that isn't an option. I've read posts from other folks who have booked CL with the military discount. This seems to be a particularly generous discount, depending on dates/resorts.
We're booked CL at WL, and we are also CL at BWI.
Neither was offered to me out of hand, I had to ask the "right" questions. ;) What's available with the military discount code at (whatever resort). What views are available? Are there any CL rooms? Sometimes the answer was no, sometimes yes. I also noticed some CM's seemed to answer without really looking...occasionally telling me flat out that CL wasn't available with this code. (I knew this wasn't true, so I politely thanked them, and called back later.) And availability can change from day to day.
About suites, it's true in general, WDW doesn't discount suites. BUT, with this military code, there have been some available. I know this for certain. We have one booked at BWI. :thumbsup2
