Would someone please explain the whole locker thing to me? I've read a few posts, but just not sure exactly how it all works.:confused3

Are there lockers outside of every attraction? Are you allowed to bring a small backpack on any ride? If not. are there some rides you are allowed and other rides you aren't allowed to bring anything on?

If you only use the locker for the time you are on a ride, do you spend any money?

Thanks for any help!

I haven't been since 2008 so things may have changed, but here's what I remember. There are lockers outside of the larger attractions and all you do is rent one on a touch screen and pick a password for it/scan your finger. At that time we weren't charged for any of ours but we only used them for the duration of the queue and the ride. Not all attractions have the lockers so yes, there were some smaller, calmer rides that you could bring a bag on. Once again, this was in '08 so hopefully someone who's been more recently can clarify. :)

harry potter castle ride has lockers you can use free for up to, i think it was 2 hours, not sure if any of the other big rides had them for free or not, there are pay lockers in the park also. you can't take anything at all on the mummy so those lockers may be free too for the duration of the ride.

There are free lockers for rides that don't allow bags. You just use a touchscreen, choose rent a locker. The screen will tell you to put your finger(thumb, I believe) on the screen and you will be assigned a locker. The amount of free time is based on how long the wait is for the ride, so if the wait is 30 minutes, you will get like 40 minutes free. If you go over, you have to pay. When you return to get your stuff, you choose to open your locker and ue your thumbprint again to open the locker. I would suggest you write the number down, because I seem to remember it doesn't tell you what locker when you claim your stuff. The attendant can help, but it wastes some time.

They are free for limited time, but if you do go over get an attendant he will open it for you Free, have never paid, oh ,and remember what is in the locker as he will ask you

I must of gotten a grumpy CM, because he made me pay for going over 5 minutes. We rode the single rider line on MIB one time too many times and went over our time limit. Actually, if we hadn't had to wait to use the locker control box, we would have been fine. I had to argue with the CM to help me, because the control box was asking me to pay and my bag with my wallet in it was in the locker. The CM didn't seem to be able to understand that I couldn't pay until he got my locker open for me:confused3 I think it took me 3 times explaining for him to have the DUH moment.

Locker Requirements are as follows:

Hulk, Dragons, and Forbidden Journey in IOA have Required Lockers. Rockit, ROTM, and MIB have Required Lockers in USF. Lockers are near the ride entrance and are FREE while you ride (usually 30 mins more than the posted wait). If you go over your time period, you may have to pay $ to unlock your locker. If you leave your $ in your locker, find a locker attendant.

To use the lockers, go to any computer screen and touch to start. Follow the instructions and GENTLY place your finger of choice on the scanner. Mashing your finger = poor scan, and it hurts! The computer will assign you a locker. When you return, go back to the same locker bay and enter your locker number, then scan the same finger (GENTLY!) and follow the remaining instructions on screen.

The water rides at IOA (JP River, Ripsaw, Popeye) have OPTIONAL lockers. These are $3/hr, since you can take your stuff on the rides, but your stuff may get wet. If you go over the hour limit, the computer will ask you for more $ to unlock your locker.

What about the " all day" lockers just inside the main gate. How much are they and do you need to have the correct money? In 1$ 5$ or 10$ notes?
