I am trying to understand what the Block Party Bash is and how it works. I read on Disney's website there are 3 zones. It sounds like one party that moves to each of the 3 zones - is this actually what happens? Can you stake out a spot ahead of time like you do for a parade and see everything? How do you know where each zone is? Are there "best" places to be?

Thanks for any help!!

It's like a parade in California Adventure. There are 3 stops along the parade route. If you've staked out a spot--which is marked--you can dance with the characters and watch the little thing they do. It's with the characters from Toy Story and Monsters Inc.

Thanks for the information. So, if you're staked out at the first zone, once that party passes, it's over! There's not 3 groups of characters !! We are more "older character" fans (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Snow White, etc). Do you think it would it be fun for us - or worth the time spent?

This is what I've read on this parade/party at DCA, It is DCA's main event for the 50th celebration. The Bash consists of highly orchestrated "spontaneaous" street parties...each party includes music (some live), dancing and novel street entertainment. Featuring 26 characters from Toy Story/Monsters Inc./A Bugs Life & The Incredibles. The bash stops for 3 11-minute shows along its route.

I read also, I think in another post here that there are three "zones" color coded I think red/blue/green and this is where the parade will stop...I think if you sit near a zone you will see all three of the shows as they are different. I also read that the bash does not always stop in each zone (???) and to ask a CM that day if where you are sitting is good for seeing a party or all 3 of the parties that particular day.

Does sound like just the Disney/Pixar characters so maybe not your thing but I know when we go in April this is on my to-do list. Sounds cool!

When we were there this summer, they only stopped in the first two zones (red and green I believe) because of the heat. The CM's will advise you if they are not stopping at all three zones. The music and performers are very high energy. The "show" is the same in each zone. The zones are pretty large, and there are a number of floats, with each float featuring different types of entertainment. It's a neat show, but if you're looking for the classic characters, it may not be for you. Hope this helps

We just went a little less than a month ago, and I went 2 times. One time we staked out a spot to see Monster's Inc, and the other time to see Toy Story. We found out where these spots were by asking a CM where they would be. Just because a zone is marked doesn't mean that you do not know which float stops where. Yes, they are all just Pixar floats. The last one that we just saw in passing was Bug's Life.
There were only 2 zones operating when we went too. The red and the green. Because attendance was slower, the blue one was not a stop. Both zones are exactly the same, it just depends on which float you want to see. I don't think that there is a spot where you can see all 3 at once, we couldn't even see 2 at once, but they will all pass by you either coming, or going by. HTH! :teeth:

OK, I think I get it! I think if we're close by, we will stop to see what it's all about. It sounds cute and I'm sure it would be fun to watch the kids.

Thanks for the information!!

Where are the zone located and does the first one on the route fill up fast?

The three zones are located at:

Red Zone - Sunshine Plaza. The "parade" comes out playing music until all of the floats are out & circling the plaza. Toy Story is the first group, Monsters Inc is the middle group, and Bugs Life is the last group. After the Party Bash, the floats fold up and move to the

Green Zone - Entrance to Bugs Land - just past the entrance to It's Tough to Be a Bug. Since this is a straight area, the floats are in a line when they stop and perform. When they're done they fold up and move to the

Blue Zone - In front of Golden Dreams Theater, and perform their last bash there.

Each bash lasts about 10 minutes or so. If the Red Zone is at 5:15, then the Green Zone is 5:30, and the Blue Zone is at 5:45 (unless there is no blue zone that afternoon).

If you're up front you or the kids have a good chance to join in a bit of dancing with the entertainers. Because the parade route is so spread out you have a good chance of getting a good view and even participating.
