Please explain about special ticket to Universal

Did someone once mention here on the boards about some special ticket to Universal where they actually pick you up at your Disney Resort?
How exactly does this work? Has anyone used this - and how did it fare for you? How much money is it?

There is a ticket for 1 Day/2 Parks available that includes Mears transportation round-trip.

I didn't buy that package, but did use Mears to go from All Star Sports and it was a good experience. IIRC, it's $18/person, that's roundtrip. It was a quick process to get to Universal in the morning but did take considerably longer going back at night. Wasn't a bad thing, since we had no evening plans but to rest, but something to take into consideration if you have ADRs that night.

So how does this all work? If I stay at Coronado Springs would they pick me up near check-in at CSR? Have any idea of what time? Do I have to choose my exact date beforehand? How far in advance do they need in order to pick me up? Is it one of the big Mears busses?

You have to call Mears and make arrangements. Depending on how many people they have to collect, it is probably a van.

i stay at disney resorts before i transfer to the universal resorts on my long stays.

you can make your transportation with the Mears shuttle in your disney resort lobby concierge desk.

you need to do this at least the night before you need the Mears transportation.

you book your seats and pay the fee. ($19 pp rt)
you do need to list the date you want this service as you have to guarantee your seat(s) on the shuttle bus.

you also need to choose the pick up time for that ride.

the mears shuttle may or may not stop at other disney resorts before it heads out to the darkside.
this information you can get from the CM when you book your shuttle.

you can call Mears 3 hours prior to schedule your pick up time while at universal.
or, you can book both transportation times when you sign up and pay.

the Mears shuttle bus will load outside the disney resort, near where the other park buses will load.
easy to find.
the CM's outside will direct you if you need help.
