Disney's website said that five people can stay at a deluxe room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I've looked at pictures on the net and haven't seen a room set for five. Has anyone had five stay? If so, how so, was it comfortable, which rooms to request, etc.?

Thanks. I'm still working through scenerios before I book.

Let them know that you will have five in your room and you can request (and get!) a room with two queens and a daybed, or one queen, a bunk bed and a daybed! Hope this helps!

I believe the rooms at AKL that sleep five are considered "deluxe" rooms and therefore cost more money. Someone else may know for sure.

We had five the last time we stayed at AKL, but my youngest was a 2yo and slept in the pack-and-play which was provided in the room.

Hope this helps.

We stayed there last week with the bunks and daybed. It wasn't what you would call spacious, but we did have enough room and didn't step on each other--and both my boys are 5'9"-big boys! There is plenty of space under the beds for the suitcases and there is a double sink. It is a beautiful place to stay!

The deluxe rooms are the ones that sleep 5 and are located on the top floors, floor 5 and 6. The rooms are a hair bigger and have different bedspreads and drapery. These are more expensive and if you fill it with adults it gets quite expensive!!!

Just an FYI about five at AKL: The deluxe rooms cost nearly as much as a room at any of the other true deluxe resorts, ie Poly, Cr, BC/YC ect. You can also get two rooms at a value or moderate for around the same price as these deluxe rooms. So unless you specifically want to stay at the AKL there are other options to consider. We do two rooms at a moderate and this was less than one deluxe room at the AKL plus we have four beds, two baths and two tv's. They will guarantee connecting rooms for you if you only have two adults in your party of five.

I stayed in a deluxe room a AKL on the 5th floor and we only had 2 queens. I can't imagine where they would have put another daybed in that room. I was pretty tight as it was.

Not all of the Deluxe rooms sleep 5. It is my understanding that when the AKL opened there were no or very few Deluxe rooms with 2 queens and a daybed. Some of them had 2 queens. Some had a king with a daybed and some had one queen, bunks and a daybed. Later someone on the Dis said there were rooms with 2 queens and a day bed and that they may be adding more.
