I would suggest ordering the free DVD from the Disney Cruise Line web site. Sit the whole family down and watch it. It will answer some of your questions, but probably cause you to have more questions. But, it would give you a good idea of what DCL is like. I'll try to answer some of your questions:

On board, there is a lot to do, or you can choose to do nothing and hang out by one of the pools. There are activities planned through out the day. There are activities for adults only, families, and kids only. The kids club has activities broken down by age groups. There are all sorts of activities, to see an example of what you can do you can check out some sample Navigators at (http://www.dcltribute.com/navigators/).

On the 7 night cruises there is a character breakfast. Characters make appearence through out the ship and various times. There a photo opps, and autograph sessions.

I believe the slowest times are fall (Sept. - Oct.) and winter (Jan. - Feb.). Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

You can get a lot of information on this site, but I think previewing the DCL DVD will give you some direction as to what you can expect on a DCL cruise.

Good luck,

Disney Cruise is absolutely the best there is when is comes to enertainment onboard the ship. There is always something to do for kids and adults. I am leaving in 2 weeks on my 3rd Disney cruise. When you get to your stateroom there is what is called the navigator. You get one of these daily in your stateroom. It is your best friend while on board. It tells you all the activities and times of everything that is going on that day/night. Most cruises you go to the same restaraunt every day but on disney you have rotating dinners which means you go to a different restraunt, there is Parrot Cay, Animator's Palate and Tritons/Lumeaires (sp?) so you go to a different restraunt each evening. You have a table number and you go to that table number each night. Your wait staff rotates with you each night. There are characters around every night before dinner and before the shows. You will have so many amazing pictures to choose from. The shows are so great, what you would expect from Disney... nothing but the best. Castaway Cay is so beauitful and the characters are out all day on the beach. If you have ever been on another cruise line you will see the difference from the moment you arrive at the terminal to board the ship. They pay attention to all the little details that most cruise lines forget about. They have they sail away party at 5:00 PM when the ship leave the dock... take a look at the terminal, Disney members are waiving you off into the sunset with white mouse gloves. You will have the time of your life... it is the best Disney experience land or sea!
