Please Don't Post Your Contractions on FB

I get creeped out by people's ultrasound pictures. I understand they are excited, and I'm not telling them not to post them, it's just a personal thing. They creep me out. But that's just me.

Maybe she will post during delivery as well.

Well, then again, maybe not.

LOL

LOL

:lmao: "hold on - I need to post this on facebook..'baby's crowning! One more push to go'"

Now we'll miss the description of her mucus plug!

In her defense, being in an ER involves a LOT of sitting and waiting. If he was stable and calm, no harm done.

I had never even heard of a mucus plug until someone posted on FB that they lost theirs.

Shouldn't that be "Please DO NOT post your contractions on FB"?
:rotfl:

While I can't stand the stupid meaningless updates about what one orders at Starbucks or what purse they are using, I don't see the big deal about posting about your contractions. She's going to have a baby, thats pretty big news, maybe there are family friends that asked he to post about it because they couldn't be there with her. If you don't like it, don't read it, block her or avoid FB altogerther.
:thumbsup2

Never posted that one lol

One woman was posting the whole time her child was in the emergency room. I thought she should be tending to her little boy instead of posting. She was with him in the room.

I don't see anything wrong with that...if all you're doing is sitting there waiting, what's the big deal in taking 2 seconds to update on your phone? :confused3 It's the fastest way to get out information.

I block them too. I pretty much block everybody. Like right now. I'd probably block you for disagreeing with me.

Yeah, I've heard of that. I would say that I experienced it, but I think it would be TMI.

Oh, did I say that?:rotfl:

At least she is not posting pictures!

Years ago, my husband had a coworker (all male machine shop) that brought in photos of his new baby. He also had graphic shots of the labor!:scared1:

Maybe because I had c-sections but I never got into the whole play-by-play with my kids' births.

TMI for me.

I AGREE!!!!

I have way too many friends who share extremely personal details, and feel the need to update every 2.7 seconds. I have a large block list... and have been slowly and quietly "unfriending" quite a few of them too.

I also don't understand everyone that "checks in" every few minutes- especially on vacation. While I LOVE living vicariously through friends at WDW, I can't imagine how/why some of them "check in" at every single attraction, show, ride, restaurant, etc. Its fun for us at home to watch, but isn't it taking away from vacation time?

yet another reason I'm glad I don't have Facebook. Or for the sake of this post. I am glad I don't have Facebook

Please don't tell me she's continuously updating with every contraction.

Better that than a daily update on what you made for lunch and dinner....."mmmm tonight mac n cheese and meatloaf! Comfort food!"

Good for you!! I just closed my account, not because people post TMI but because some of my "friends" take it too freaking seriously! I posted that my sister was having a b oobie job and she got mad! NOT because it was a secret, but because she wanted to be the first to post it. Ok, but I was talking to my girlfriends about it on FB, my girlfriends that SHE's not friends with. So I can't even talk to my girlfriends without someone getting offended, insulted or pissed off. And if I delete my sister so she can't see what i write, she'll be mad. So I said screw it, and I opened a Twitter acct with only a handful of my closest girlfriends so I can talk about whatever the heck I want.

I had too many FB friends who didn't know each other and they get jealous when one found out I was going out with this one instead of that one. Too much drama. I'm in my 40s and I don't need this crap.

FB turns people into teenagers with their hissy fits, and I left that stage of life a loong time ago.

See ya real soon, FB. NOT!

*lol*

I'm due in 4 weeks with our first child and we do post preggo related things often on FB...but mainly because our friends are several states away and our family is scattered from east coast US to Australia...so FB is the easiest way to include them in things.

That said, yes, we will post labor on FB...but not go nuts. The plan is to post when we are actually admitted to the hospital -- not dilation or contraction updates....just a quick notice every few hours to let them know that things are OK, since I am (as the OB puts it) "Advanced Maternal Age" and everyone is worried that we'll have problems in labor.

Hell, we've been to labor and delivery 3x so far and haven't posted it on FB...no one needed to know it was a false alarm *lol*

And if it annoys my friends...tough. I put up with horoscope posts, beer posts, tacky and off-color things. If they want to unfriend me or block me because something momentous is happening in my life, then they are not someone I want to be 'hanging' with irl or online anyway.

You mean you haven't shared pictures of your c-section?

Seriously, "No, I do not want to see your uterus" is something I shouldn't have to say.
