I wonder if there are some sort of guidelines about "jokes" of this sort. I know mods and many others put a lot of time into this board and doing something like this is not really a nice thing to do.. maybe this "child" needs to be reported... at least I motion that we report it.. I for one don't go for jokes like this. It is like a troll.. no different.

No, there are no rules against this--this is just someone being silly. And a troll usually posts things to get people upset--not to make people laugh. This is someone trying to have a good time. No harm done.

Well it's not entirely odd some one that's 102 is going to Disney.

I was there one day when a lady celebrated her 103 birthday at Magic Kingdom, it was her first time to disney, first plane flight, first taste of alcohol (at Epcot), got to be grand marshals, got a private meet and greet behind city hall with all the characters. And it was her grandson that worked for Disney that finally brought her here. He had been trying for 3 years when he started, but it was hard getting the family together with every one well enough for the trip.

And I bring my bed with me to Disney... but that's cause I'm sleeping in my own tent.

I see what you are saying about trolls, I always took them as stirring things up.. this poster was seeing how many people would fall for his/her prank. Yeah, no harm was done here when you look at it that way..

Haha Haha!! I am TakodaCaleb's Mom. Not really 102 and any mattress at Disney is way better than my junky one at home. He sure does have a sense of humor. Blame it on summertime or too many energy drinks. We are a Disney loving family and appreciate those of you who see the humor in his posts. I monitor his Dissing, heck we Dis together most of the time. I will certainly curtail anything he does that goes beyond fun. I also had a good laugh at this post. Thanks for the comments. Thank you moderators for recognizing that no harm was intended. Looking forward to a good sleep at Disney in the fall!

No, you can tell it's a kid, not just by the previous post, but by lots of other posts that states "permision from parents".

BTW, I would die if I was a teen and had my mom following me on the net... I was always very private in my teen years. Thankfully the first computer in the house was for me for my 16th birthday and no one else knew how to use one. I had to teach my mom how to play solitaire of all things. My aunt was only good at DOS cause that's how the program at her job worked. But no one knew the amount that I did.

Trust me, I get your point. I think I would've been banned for life on the net if any one knew of the things I did. I sure as heck don't want any of my kids doing those sorts of things on the net either.
It's hard... when you're the kid you think one way, but you never understand parents until you become one.
I think I'll go back to no net when kids come around.

Okay this thread has turned from a joke to a thread that is just questioning parents parenting. If a moderator can please delete this thread that would make me very happy. This thread was started because I mis-read a thread titled "Buying A Mattress" and I severely apologize to anyone that is angered by my joke. I also appreciate that moderators didn't ban me from the DisBoards because of my (I think was funny) joke. I am not making fun of any people with bad backs as sometimes I have back pains too. No, you shouldn't be banned. And kudos to your mom for monitoring what you're doing. This is called learning. We all need to do it. You can't read a book about this experience of posting something on a discussion board and it going awry and know exactly how you'd feel. Now you have some great experience.

But, you gotta kinda look at it from the adult perspective. See, we watch the news a lot and the stuff on the news at times is very sad. Especially when it's about bullying and trolling on the internet. I'm sure you've heard about kid's who have committed suicide b/c of online harassment. Well, we're just jaded and as grown up our funny bones sometimes don't work as well as yours might.

Oh, and by the way, the mods don't like to be yelled at -- giant letters and all caps are the equivalent of yelling. But you know this already. They hear you. But maybe you have to suffer from your own joke just a little while longer.
