Now how did my duplicate post get more responses than the real one? I actually made 2 duplicate posts of the same post and still have no idea how I did it! It was about my cat getting a feline leukemia test today, LOL. I guess not many people cared about my cat, but more cared about whether I had broken a rule.

Are you sure your other post showed up? I don't recall seeing a post about a kitty getting a feline leukemia test.

What were the results? Is Kitty okay?

Ssorry about your kitty. I've heard about that disease from posters at our vet office. I don't know much about it. How is kitty faring?

Kitty tested negative for feline leukemia, but has to have a dental surgery because her gums are very infected. It still could be serious, as in the big "C" but at least I don't have to worry about my other 3 cats getting sick.

And I think the Universe was looking out for you & Blythe as it posted your thread 3 times, so that you ended up getting 3 times the prayers & well wishes for her after all.

Yeah, I was really worried. I got her from a rescue along with her brother. They had been given their shots and spayed/neutered. I was told that when the mom tests negative for FELV, that means the kittens are also negative. I took them at their word. Then, around 8 weeks after getting the kittens, both my older cats got sick with respiratory symptoms. Then both got ulcers! The one cat had them in his mouth and ended up costing me $400! Evidently, the kittens were carrying the calicivirus, even though they were vaccinated. I feel like the rescue should have told me that was a possibility, because I had never heard of that virus.

SO, when the vet told me the kittens could have been exposed to feline leukemia by another cat(they were rescued from a farm with lots of other cats), I was really scared for my other cats as well as Blythe. We are hoping that the mouth issue came from Blythe also having the calicivirus and it just not clearing up. Even if the surgery fixes things, that is another $500 when it is all said and done. I am a single mom and a teacher, so that is really a budget buster!
