9/12/06 - breakfast at cinderella's royal table
dinner at san angel ( I was thinking of switching to coral reef??)

9/14/06 - dinner at Mama Melrose

9/15/06 - dinner at Rose and Crown Pub

Any suggestions would be so appreciated. Thanks. :yay:

Last time I went Biergarten was excellent especially if you get a table at the front as you get a great view of the musicians and if you feel the urge get up and have a dance, a whole family did when we were there and it was great. The food was delicious and we all (My parents DH DS DD and I all enjoyed it) a nice dining experience. Haven't been to the Sci Fi for ages but again I would try to get a 'car' either at the middle front or just in the middle if you sit at the sides you are more aware it's not real if you see what I mean, it kind of spoiled it for us. Have fun and enjoy. :sunny:

All are good choices except I don't think you should switch from San Angel to Coral Reef.

On our last trip we had a really fun lunch at Sci Fi, with much better food than I was expecting after reading reviews on this board.

We also did the breakfast at the castle -- the food was just ok, but the location was magical.

R & C was one of the BEST dinners we had (and we ate at some restaurants that were much more expensive and not nearly as good)

I think your plan looks great! Enjoy.

Everything looks good, except in our experience we have not had good food or service at Captain Jacks and we will Never return to Coral Reef. Have a good trip!

I don't know what the feedback from Concourse Steakhouse has been, but we liked it... the food and service was good. Our family loved Sci-Fi Dinner Theater, the atmosphere was fun, the food surprisingly good.
We did not have a good experience with San Angel. The service was horrible and the food mediocre at best. This was just our experience.
It is fun to try new places...it really is hit or miss depending on what your likes, what kind of servers you have, how busy it is, and most of all, what your expectations are.
Have fun!

The only one I have any experience with is Rose & Crown and I have to agree with mmmears. We also felt it was one of the best meals we had last December! You will love it... be sure to get the sticky toffee pudding for dessert..... mmmmm.... rich and to die for!

Do you have young children?? If so, I would switch to Coral Reef. That fish tank can be quite entertaining. We had a nice dinner there a few trips back.

Don't switch. Coral Reef is dreadful and over priced.

Sounds like you've plannedwell, and your fam will muchly enjoy your dining experiences. I personally wouldnt do ScI- FI for dinner. I wasnt impressed the one time I was there (was ordinary burgers, and over-priced IMO). Also, it looks like you've booked alot of your meals for EPCOT. Enjoy :thumbsup2

Hi!

We'll be at WDW the same exact week! And I too will be taking in the Spectro and Wishes on Sunday night...great minds think alike!

The only place on your list I've eaten at is Biergarten. It is good and quite entertaining. I've always wanted to try Sci Fi theater. This year we are going to try 50s Prime Time Cafe. All your choices seem good, although if you want some super family fun try O'Hana at the Polynesian. It's a set menu served family style, skewers of steak, turkey, shrimp and pork. It's a great environment, lots of fun. One of the best family oriented resort restaurants. Also Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge & Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge are also at the top of my list of best family-oriented resort restuarants.

There are all adults in my party so we tend to go for the more exotic foods. We'll be dining at Jiko, Boma, Chefs de France, Polynesian Luau to name a few. We're having our character breakfast at Cape May Cafe at the Yacht and Beach Club. The breakfast has a "beach" theme with Minnie and Goofy and we'll be wearing our swimclothes to breakfast as we're heading to Typhoon Lagoon directly afterwards. I love being able to theme a meal with a park! You're lucky to get Cindy's Royal Tabler ressies, I hear they go fast. I've never dined there I hope you have a great time.

Keep in mind... these are just my opinions. I have eaten at a few places at WDW on the recommendations of others and didn't care for them myself.

Cap' Jacks- will be trying them myself in January. Let me know what you think.

Concourse Steakhouse- never been there, but I have seen that it is practically right on top of Chef Mickey's, with just a divider, not a real wall seperating them. I can imagine it would be noisy.

Sci-Fi- went there for lunch one day. Atmosphere is fun, service was okay. I had the Rueben sandwich... delcious. However, I'd pick 50's Prime Time if you have never been there.

CRT- excellent choice!!!

San Angel Inn- I have to agree with some other posters. The food is mediocre. We have better Mexican here where I live in VA. BUT, the atmosphere is so cool and romantic. Loved it! As for Coral Reef, it is expensive, but well worth it. I had the Blackened Catfish... very spicy, but delicious.

Biergarten & Mama Melrose- have not tried yet. We have a German restaraunt here at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, so I probably won't go to Biergarten. I've never really heard any rave reviews of Mama Melrose.

Rose and Crown- many people love this place. We are trying it in January. The menu I have seen doesn't look super, but I am trying it to get the great seating for Illuminations. :teeth:

Hope this helps!

Cap'n Jacks - I like this place. The stake was pretty good, but my favorite part about it is the amazing view across the lake of DD and DSSR.

Sci-fi Dine-in I agree with the post above, the reuben here is great. If you are into "adult" beverages, try the Marsha's Martian (chocolate shake with a twist :thumbsup2 )

San Angel I like this place. Most people go here expecting "Tex-Mex" style Mexican food (a la Taco Hell), and when they get more authentic Mexican food it's a LOT different.

Mama Melrose's I've only been here once. I had one of the flatbreads and LOVED it.

Beirgarten One of my favorite places. The food is good, and the entertainment is a blast. I also love the banquet-style seating (the tables seat 8 people, and it doesnt matter if they know each other LOL).

You have made some great choices. We really liked Yachtsman's Steakhouse, but Concourse is nice as well. I don't remember it being very noisy, but I think we also had a late dinner that night. I would recommend Le Cellier, but you already have 2 Epcot dinners.

I haven't been to San Angel, but I hear you can watch the boats go by.

Don't have anything else to say about the others- so have fun on your trip!!

I also think you have a great line up but thought I would throw in my suggestions from experiences.

Never tried it but let me know how you like it.-9/9/06 - arrive in the late afternoon Dinner at Cap'n Jacks.

I had a bad experience ...poor service and so, so food. I would suggest LeCellier at Epcot.- 9/10/06 - dinner at concourse steakhouse. parade and fireworks after.

I love their lunch because we get burgers and shakes...you aren't guarenteed burgers at night but that may not be what you want, - We like 50's prime time and Holllywood & Vine - Both are very good. 9/11/06 - dinner at sci-fi diner. fantasmic after.

Never had that experience- hope you have fun. We go to Crystal Palace. 9/12/06 - breakfast at cinderella's royal table

We didn't enjoy the food but the atmosphere was nice. If you have kids it is very dark inside. We couldn't see what we were eating! The food at the fast food Mexican place was much better. The Italian restaurant in Epcot is very good too. We think CR is over priced but does have a nice aquarium.-dinner at san angel ( I was thinking of switching to coral reef??)

Haven't been there...let me know how it is. -9/13/06 - Dinner at Biergarten

It was okay but like H&V and 50's PT better. 9/14/06 - dinner at Mama Melrose

Very good choice! 9/15/06 - dinner at Rose and Crown Pub

:tink:Have fun!

It's all a matter of taste really. One person's slop is another person's gourmet meal.

Out of the ones you picked, I would recommend you don't do dinner at Sci-Fi. It's very novel and cute, but the food is DRIED UP and basically awful. I would pick Brown Derby or 50's Prime Time and then Fantasmic. Keep San Angel, do NOT switch to Coral Reef. Those are the only things I feel real strongly about out of your list.

If you've never been, you're doing the right thing with breakfast at CRT. It's truly magical!

You really didn't hit any of our favorites, except San Angel, but that's okay. Another time. There are too many to pick from. Our favorite restaurants are:

Kona Cafe (Breakfast)
CA Grille
Artist Pointe
Beaches & Cream (fun soda shop at the Beach Club)
San Angel
Narcoosee's
Kimonos (sushi)
Boma (breakfast)
Flying Fish

You'll have a great time - enjoy!

PamNC

We were starving after Capn Jack's. Go to Raglan Road instead. It's a billion times better.

Sci Fi is fun but stick to burgers and shakes.

We liked Concourse Stk House for bkfast but your kids will see Chef M's and wish they were there.

Mexico is fun with so-so food.

Mama Melroses is ok but not great.
'
We LOVE R& C.

You'll have fun irregardless because you are at DW. Don't forget to arrive before the parks open to have no lines for an hour. Then, get FP's.
