So from what I have gathered off of a few threads thus far:

When I get to disneyland there is a photo pass shop on main street I am to go to. I purchase a gallery C.D.
We tell them we need several arm bracelets with the scanners? Our group segments off and have their pictures taken here and there in the park.
When we return home I go to the disney site and purchase a photo pass CD using the coupon found in the gallery cd. I then enter the numbers from the different scanner bracelets which gives me access to the pictures that were taken which I guess I can then download. Apparently you get online borders etc with the gallery cd. If I am not interested in those I could just go to DL visit the photo shop for bracelets and purchase the CD on my return home.

Kind of. No bracelets they use cards with bar codes on them which they will scan when you ask a PPphotographer to take your picture. You can also get the cards from them, anyone of them, instead of in the shop.

PhotoCD is what you order afterward, within 30 days of you visit. You go to the photopass website and enter all the cards that pictures are attached to. You can then edit these photos on the website.

While you can get information of the boards, this site below has a very comprehensive explanation of everything photopass. Though keep in mind some of the particulars are about WDW not DLR particularily regarding locations..

One tip that I read years ago on this site is to take a picture (with your own camera) of the barcode on your photopass card. That way, if your card(s) get lost, or ruined, or wet from the rides, you can still access your photos online.

also any DL photopass photographer has those cards, so really no need to go to the photo place on main st!

And you can buy the gallery cd at any point in your trip. No need to do it right away.

Thank you all I think I understand it now. One more question just to confirm. When I purchase the cd and upload my scan numbers to it do they mail it? Or do I upload the scan numbers then just download the pictures to my computer?

But first, before you order the CD, you have a chance to go online to view all the pictures in your account. You can also crop them and add borders. By adding various borders to pictures, you can end up with several times as many pictures as you started with. When you're satisfied with the results, then you order the CD, which comes in the mail a week or two later.

yes like bob said it's better to view them online really, you can add the borders, they have some cool ones, then do the cd! also once you sign up you will have that account for ever! and so when ever you go to DL and take a photo with your photo pass card it automatically links to your photo pass account, so don't throw the photo pass card away when your done with your trip!

1. You can go anytime during your trip to the photopass shop to buy the PhotoPass Photo Gallery CD Value Pack- in MK or DCA. I would stress the one that has the free voucher in it, because you never know when in the future it will be discontinued. So far, it's been running for several months but you never know when it'll end.

2. You can obtain any photopass cards from any photopass photographers. The ones that people talk of that are cards on bracelets- you tend to find those at the WDW waterparks- precisely because it's easier to not lose them since normally one doesn't have pockets on their bathing suits(at least if you're female, that is)

3. When you get home go to the disney photopass website and open up an account. When you enter your photopass numbers from the back of the cards your pictures will start to show up. You can then edit however you like; remember the default size is 4 x 6 so even if you don't use borders, if you wanted an 8 x 10 shot it's best to edit your pics for that size.

4. When you check out, choose the photoCD option. Then use the promotional code found in your photogallery CD you bought and the price will drop to zero with free shipping.;)

5. Yes, if you decide to buy the CD there and then they'll just ask for all of your cards, input the info themselves and make the CD. You can go home with it at that point.

Does the preorder discount for the photopass CD work for Disneyland like it does for WDW?

No, it does not. But there is a discount for it in the gallery Cd when you buy that while at DL.

It doesn't but the PhotoCD for DLR is roughly a third of the price of the WDW. So much cheaper to begin with.

Thanks everyone now I feel more confident about how this works. I can't wait to try it. I have been to DL several times but had no clue how it worked. I just assumed they took your picture and put a high price tag on it like 20 bucks a shot in a paper frame.

WELL the photos i guess to order two or one is like $14.00 with a border (if u choose one) umm i havn't looked at the price in a long time, but i think last time that was what it was..
