We decided to take yet another trip to Disney in May. I called CRO and tried to use the new Florida Resident rate for CBR. Actually the person tried ALL the available codes for CBR but they are totally sold out. This floors me since you could ALWAYS get into CBR before. We have a reservation at Port Orleans Riverside. I have never stayed there and I am rather nervous about it. We requested Oak Manor Mansions to be close to the foodcourt. I know thats no guarentee though. I really need help convincing myself that I will like this resort. CBR is kind of our home away from home because we have stayed there so many times.

During June 1998 we stayed in the Oak Mansion of POR(Dixie Landings then). We loved it. Beautiful landscaping and we enjoy the food court. It was a relaxed setting with the river running between the mansions and the food court area. We plan on returning for our next trip. We have stayed at CBR, but we prefer POR. The food court is layed out better with more choices - you secure all of your food items and then pay at one checkout. I think you will enjoy it.

Thank you so much for your replies and the link to the pictures. It sure does look beautiful. One of the things I dont like from looking at a map of the Disney property is how far it looks from everything. Is it really that far away from all the parks? It looks almost as if you are right at Downtown Disney. Looks rather confusing to drive it. We dont use transportation because we have a car.

Actually POR is pretty much centrally located. It takes about 10-12 mins. to get to Magic Kingdom and Epcot, about 15 mins. to MGM, and about 20 mins. to Animal Kingdom. We only took the boats (when they were running) to Downtown Disney and that took about 10 - 15 mins. I really like the location. And if you are going to the Hoop-Dee-Doo, they have a bus just for it - just ask at the front desk about times and departure location.

I like POR better than CBR becuase the bus service is fast and awesome. The food court is closer to everything and I love the theming. It is so pretty and a great resort. Reminds me of a budget BC and we love BC. The staff is great. The fishing hole and surey bikes are my kids favorites we usually spend the last day just hanging at the hotel- don't forget to ask for late checkout til 1:00 for free. We have always been able to get it. The playground and poola re very nice too.

We stayed there last November. The food court is great - lots of choices for food and drinks. The pool great pool, with a really fun slide! We had a mansion room near the busstops, and near a beautiful fountain.

Our family has had our home away from home at CBR for years, as well. This past Dec. DH & I took our first without kids now that they are all grown-up, married, and college. Dad & I did the unthinkable and made ressies for POR & CS! We loved POR and would return in a heartbeat. We still love CBR. Returning in Nov.
