Please confirm I am understanding my points correctly...

I have a one bedroom booked at BCV. I also have a wait list for a studio that expires at 30 days prior. I am not sure if my daughter will be able to join us (she is a nurse and schedule will come out in early July for the following three months and our trip is in August.)

Anyway, if the waitlist matches and I need to cancel one of the rooms depending on how many people are coming, can I reallocate points borrowed from 2018 (which will be necessary for second room) and use them for the August reservation, whatever room I use? I will finalize all prior to 30 days.

Initially, the CM said the points would go into holding, but when I explained what my plan was she said that it would work. I know points borrowed cannot be returned, but can't I apply them for the current reservation and push the 2017 points into my 2018 use year? Obviously, I am not sure, so I am asking the experts here.

Yes as long as you are at least 31 days out and not past your banking window they can reallocate the points and bank your current UY ones. I had to cancel a room this year that used borrowed points and I called and had them reallocate the points to apply the borrowed points to another reservation
