Please clearify what an AP and/or AP rates are

OK I am soooo confused I keep hearing about AP and AP rates. What are those and how can I get them. Also I completely understand the dining plan but I have heard about some kind of dining card???? What is this? Thanks for any help.

AP is Annual Pass - tickets good for one year.

AP rates are room only rates that are discounted and only available to AP holders. There's usually a code associated with it and you must have an activated AP or purchased an AP exchange voucher in order to get it.

DDE - Disney Dining Experience - a card/program exclusively for AP holders or FL residents that costs $50 but gives you 20% of your table service meals and alcoholic beverages.
