I am staying with a large group of people in two different units at Saratoga Springs in August. Some of us want the dining plan and some don't.

Our current strategy is to list all of the people that want the plan on one unit, and everyone else on the other unit.

I am not clear on how the dining credits are handled. Will all of the credits be loaded onto all of our Keys? And then it is up to us individually to determine how to track the credits?

Also, for the cs credits, some of our party are children and some adults. I have heard that they are all just one pool, but yet I hear mentioned to tell the cashier if you are using child credit or adult credit. Why would you tell them that if it is only one pool of cs credits? Would it be the same effect if everytime I got cs I said 3 adult credits, or 3 child credits?

Also, can anyone in the room go to the counter and get counter service offerings for a group? We tend to send the kids with one adult to a table while the other adult gathers food and pays.

Thanks for your help.

If Villa 1 has the dining plan and Villa 2 does not, then the key cards of everyone in Villa 1 and only Villa 1 will be encoded with the full pool of dining credits.

As for the second question, it is the policy of the DIS Restaurant Board not to discuss using credits for which a child's price was paid to purchase adult meals in restaurants that have a children's menu, as Disney has a rule that children order from the child's menu. Discussion of actually doing this will be deleted. It is up to each guest to keep track of those CS credits. Not that the OP intends to do this, but to waylay any discussion of that before it gets started.

Your key card will state how many children and how many adults are on the dining plan and the CM is expected to stick to that (if you have 4 adults and 3 children you can order 4 adult and 3 child meals that are paid for with dining credits).

Thank you! And no, my intention is not to get something we have not paid for. It is just the tracking process with the either 8 or 9 of us on the dining plan with some kids an some adults and not always being together and the process for managing it all is why I was asking. Our kids are likely to only eat the things on the kids menu anyhow:)

As to your last question, yes, just one person can go to the counter and order all the meals while the other parent takes the kiddos to a table. However, during busy times, some of the restaurants will not allow you to go to the seating area before ordering. So just be aware that you MAY be denied entrance and all of you will have to wait in line.
