I know they have their own mug, that is not the question. Can I also take the generic resort mug bought at another resort to their main pool? Buzz, forgive me if you answered this question for me, I think I'm getting old lately! lol:)

Are you asking of you are allowed to take the YOMD mug poolside with you? Last year all the resorts had unique mugs. This year for YOMD celebration they all have conformed to the blue mugs that are available and usable at all resorts. I am really not sure of the question but I think the answer is yes.;)

well, I just read recently that CSR and Contemporary still have their own mugs. Just asking if you can use either the generic YOMD mug OR the CSR mug at their pool.

It is confusing. As far as I know, CSR is the only resort that currently only gives out it's own CSR mugs. The rest of the resorts use YOMD. I'm sure I worry too much about this stuff, but I didn't want to buy a CSR mug, and then have to buy a YOMD when we went to POR for a split stay. (I guess I could have just used a CSR mug at POR, but...didn't know if that would be a problem...) In the end my choice was to just say no to the mug.

any more on this one?

I am not sure of the answer to this one.
The Pepper Market and the CSR pool bar are run by an independent company. They are not run by Disney. That is why they were able to sell the giant mug at CSR and the Disney resort food courts did not offer them.

Yes, they do have a mug program but I have read some posts that guests were told they could not use the YOMD Mug at CSR.

Thanks Minnie, anyone have the absolute official word on this?

Now that the Food & Fun Center at the Contemporary is closed, the temporary counter service location is not selling any mugs.

Last month when I was there before it closed at 1st they were selling the Contemporary mugs, then a few days latter they started selling the YOAMD mugs. However on my last night they went back to the Contemporary mugs, because they needed to sell those out.

yes, but I am asking about mug use at the CSR pool specifically, but thanks anyway. Doesn't anyone know the answer to this?

I know you were, but I was not sure if you knew that as of right now the Contemporary is no longer selling mugs. Sorry for hijacking you're thread.

I was wondering the same thing and also if the YOAMD mugs could be used at the Pepper Market. I'm thinking the answer is "no" since the signs say they are to be used for your length of stay. Still if someone's length of stay includes more than one resort it would seem silly to have to purchase a mug from each one. While I've seen people in the value resort food courts using mugs from years past, mugs from Universal, etc. without being challenged I also know it's very different at CSR and I've heard that people were approached and told they had to buy a CSR mug or purchase their drink. It bugs me as it goes against what is done at the other resorts but since it's run by an outside company I guess they can get away with embarrassing guests who may not realize what they're doing ( although I'm sure some do know what they're doing and are hoping it's allowed).---Kathy

I was wondered that too about split stays. I have my AKL mug and now we are going to POFQ, so what do we do. I think it is not right to have to buy them again. Anyone have any thoughts on this and will POFQ do anything about using a mug from AKL. Thanks.

Well technically you would need to purchase the YOAMD mugs at the AKL and those can be used when you switch to POFQ.

For some reason I just bought the AKL mug with their logo on it and I really cannot see buying 6 more mugs.

The refillable mugs are good for length-of-stay. The question we're still trying to answer is what happens if you split stay between CSR and any other resort?

It would be great if Disney (including CSR) would just go to a universal mug every year. Much simpler!

:grouphug: .........Mug discussions probably need both of these.......:goodvibes

Does CSR have a rule that only their Resort logo mug can be used there and the YOAMD mug can not be used there? Considering the fact that the YOAMD mug can be used at any WDW Resort counter service location, it's weird that it could not be used at CSR since it's a WDW Resort.

The restaurants at CSR aren't run by Disney. They don't have any reason to give free soda to guest that purchased a mug at a different resort.

I don't think the signage has changed, mugs are only supposed to be used at the resort where you purchased it. The fact that the mugs have been standardized would suggest Disney doesn't care.

I guess that explains it then.

However as it has been said before, the YOAMD mugs do not say they can only be used at the Resort where you purchased them like the old ones. The new ones say good at our Resort beverage island stations, so this time WDW is not restricting them to be used at one location.
