Just a friendly public service announcement inspired by my road trip yesterday where every 10th car or so, at least it seemed like anyway, had one, two or ALL of their brake lights out!

not only is that annoying, it is dangerous! I see that a lot too. Along w/ them not using their turn signal...and STAYING in the LEFT lane :furious: That drives me crazy!! If you're not passing someone...GET OVER! ... Ok..I feel better now:)

Every 10th car? How about every other car. At least it seems that way on my daily commute to/from work. I have made a similar post in the past and am glad to see that I'm not the only one who is concerned about the epidemic of burned out brake lights (and other indicator lights as well). Short of mandatory inspections and an increased emphasis by the police to ticket people with burned out lights (with the appropriate staffing and funding, of course), I don't see an end to this problem.

At least we're trying here on the DIS. :cheer2:

In Utah we have mandatory inspections every 2 years for newer cars and every year for those that are older. The inspections cover safety as well as emissions. You have to have proof of inspection to get your new registration.

Mine are checked every year when I get my state inspection.

How on earth are all those cars on the road without taillights - where are the police to ticket them???

DH got pulled over and TICKETED for having the license plate light out - I didn't even know our car had a light over the license plate - talk about being nit picky.

Ok, I'm going on a limb here....does this post seem to be false, like the last "Ticket of my spouse" post in questionable neighborhood? Before I answer and get jumped on?

I hate drivers who don't use turn signals AND who don't have all 3 brake lights working.
