Hey everyone,

This is the first version of my itinerary. If you've got a minute could you please look it over and let me know what you think. My DW wants to experience EMH evenings strictly for the atmosphere :confused3 . She wants to take in the sights at night and get some photopass pictures taken at night. Alright, here it is, please let me know what you think (good or bad). I really appreciate creative criticism!

Mon. April 30 - EP All Day (break in afternoon)
Tue. May 1 - MK All Day (break in afternoon)
Wed. May 2 - MGM All Day (break in afternoon)
Thurs. May 3 - AK A.M. - afternoon break - MK P.M. (spectro)
Fri. May 4 - Daytona Int'l Speedway & Shopping (no parks)
Sat. May 5 - AK A.M. - afternoon break - Cirque & DisneyQuest P.M.
Sun. May 6 - Waterpark & EP A.M. - afternoon break - MK P.M. (EMH)
Mon. May 7 - Waterpark & Petty Driving Experience - break - MGM P.M. (EMH)
Tue. May 8 - MK A.M. - break - EP P.M.
Wed. May 9 - MGM A.M. - break - AK P.M. (EMH)
Thurs. May 10 - EP A.M. - break - MK P.M. (need to be here on our last night)

Alright, that's it. We haven't made any ADR's yet because we want to get our itinerary in order first so that we're not trapsing across the entire world for dinner. We're only going to be renting a car for the Daytona day. We had originally planned on seeing Universal Studios but we're really not sure if it is worth the extra cash. We'd need to have the car for an extra day and the tickets themselves aren't cheap either! What are your thoughts on this? I'm going to check out the Universal Forum and see but if we were to do that we'd push Daytona to Sunday or Monday and Universal to Monday or Tuesday. Anyway, please let me know what you think!

Thanks!!!!

Mon. May 7 - Waterpark & Petty Driving Experience - break - MGM P.M. (EMH)

How long is your Petty Experience? It's usually about a half day, isn't it?

I think your agenda is fine -- it is very ambitious for me, but if it works for you that is what matters.

Good things: you have rest time, you have plenty of time to do the hightlights in each park, your doing a lot of stuff outside the parks too.

Problems: Cirque and DTD on a Saturday night is too crowded and busy, EMH days are very crowded and I don't recommend them.

I too, like to go to MK on the last night. If you take the afternoon break on long days, you should be fine.

I don't think the Driving Experience will take that long. I'm only going for the ride along. I figure that I can get a bigger thrill with someone else driving than driving myself. Plus its cheaper and the professional driver goes faster. The waterparks are fairly flexible, we generally don't spend more than a few hours there at a time. We like going first thing in the morning to beat the crowds for the slides then we hit the lazy river, shower and head out to a park.

As others have already stated...it IS a very busy schedule yet for some people that works out fine. The only thing that I would switch are the 2 highlighted above. Epcot on a Sat. morning is usually very uncrowded whereas AK on a Sat morning is usually very crowded in comparison. This would also space out your time going to AK and would allow you to drop the Epcot visit scheduled for the following day that is pretty stuffed into a day that already includes the RP Driving exper. and MK in the pm!!!

My husband did the ride along at Richard Petty and it is very short. The ride itself is literally 5 minutes. You should be in and out of there in less than an hour. The only difficulty I see with your itinerary are your water park days. You want to be there when open or even before and stay until 12 or 1 or so. I don't think you will want to do a theme park in those same mornings...afternoon or evening yes. You want to have time to leave water park, go back to hotel and change, shower, eat or whatever before tackling a park. Remember that being out in the water and sun takes a lot out of you. Have a great time! Marilyn :thumbsup2

Alright, I think I've got a good handle on this now. I've moved a few things around and taken your suggestions into consideration. First off, we don't really rush too much around parks, we take it pretty easy and know when to relax. Honestly, when we get tired we stop. It's just the two of us so we can go at whatever pace we're both comfortable with. That being said, here is the new itinerary (changes will be in bold):

Mon. April 30 - EP All Day (break in afternoon)
Tue. May 1 - MK A.M. - break - DTD for DisneyQuest and 9 p.m. Cirque show (thoughts here???)
Wed. May 2 - MGM All Day (break in afternoon)
Thurs. May 3 - AK A.M. - afternoon break - MK P.M. (spectro)
Fri. May 4 - Daytona Int'l Speedway & Shopping & DTD (no parks)
Sat. May 5 - MK A.M. - afternoon break - EP P.M.
Sun. May 6 - AK A.M. - afternoon break - MK P.M. (EMH)
Mon. May 7 - Waterpark & Petty Driving Experience (relaxing morning)- break - MGM P.M. (EMH)
Tue. May 8 - Waterpark/relaxing A.M. - break - EP P.M.
Wed. May 9 - MGM A.M. - break - AK P.M. (EMH)
Thurs. May 10 - EP A.M. - break - MK P.M. (need to be here on our last night)

How do we look now?

The 2 waterpark days we'll probably be there fairly early in the morning but we won't be doing much else until the EMH's that night. We'll be rested up. I like where Daytona is situated to break things up. Universal has been canned, too expensive and a pain in the you-know-what to get there. We generally tour until shortly after lunch, head back to the resort, rest, head out for dinner and continue touring. What I need to do for the dinners is push them back a little bit; being there right when they opened made it a bit tough to get a good rest in the afternoon. Here's the layout for the number of mornings and evenings at each park.

Mornings
2 EP
2 MK
2 MGM
2 AK

Evenings
2 EP
3 MK
2 MGM
1 AK

The 2 waterpark days could possibly get coupled with a park for the morning depending on how we're feeling but there is a good chance that we'll hit up DTD one of those days and/or check out other resorts. I know everything looks pretty even between the time spent at the parks, do you guys think I need to focus on one park more than another? Last time we were there we only spent one morning at AK and afterwards we didn't feel that it was long enough. We got in all of the attractions but that was pretty much it. Again, this has turned into a ramble....

Thanks for all your help!!!!
