I am an avid animal lover, but am NOT a member of PETA or any other organization of such. I have rescued animals, and have friends who have done and still do the same. While there are some extreme groups (again, which I am not a part of), there are many of us who just want to help our little fur creatures.

I got an e-mail in the other day from a friend, and a girl at work told me that she saw this on TV as well. I chose not to watch the video. I could only imagine what would be shown and have been sick to my stomach ever since.

I found it interesting enough to pass along to say, "Please be aware. You might not get what you think you are paying for".

I AM NOT INTERESTED IN BEING FLAMED. I JUST WANT TO SHARE THIS INFORMATION. Here is the e-mail I got:

"Larry King live had series on BRUTALITY from CHINESE to DOGS and CATS . Showing how they skin these domestic animals ALIVE and how they sliver and quiver and die a terrible death for AT LEAST 20 MINUTES ..

The FUR is sent to Europe and the US .. THe Senator from OHIO supposedly passed a law in 2000 but not for anything under $150 . So that cuddly pair of gloves or coat with FUR trim or little cuddly animal could actually be REAL animal fur . I am attaching a link so you could see VIDEO yourself . Reason I am sending this is because this needs to be sent to PARENTS who are going to be buying HOLIDAY GIFTS and to Teacher's and to 7th graders on up I think .. Only way we stop this is not to BUY this stuff . THe store owners do
not even know cause in CHina they can throw a name like GAP on anything they want as they are # 1 in the world in piracy ..

KNOW WHAT YOUR BUYING & if they do not know DO NOT BUY IT.. Wait till you see the disturbing video .. "

I can't watch the video, I've seen similar before and it ruins my day.

I don't by anything with real fur attached to the hood, in gloves, etc. It has to be fake or I'm not buying. In fact, a girl came to work lastnight with a coat that had a fake fur trim hood and I made a point to let her know that I appreciated it! I found out that she also shares similar opinions regarding the fur trade!

Only animals should wear fur!

There are so many beautiful real looking synthetic furs that there is no reason to keep the fur trade in busines. JMHO ofcourse.

I imagine you are upset at the manner in which the fur is "harvested" and not that the fur is made from dogs/cats? If the animals were humanely euthanized first would it be ok then?

The scary thing is, from what I understand, even some (with the emphasis on the word "some") items that people buy that are called "fake fur", actually are real fur (like from dogs and/or cats).

I actually grew up not wanting to wear fur. I won't even wear anything that even looks like it is fur, but again, that is my personal taste.
