For those of you who might be wondering about staying at a value resort.... We took a quick wk-end trip for Memorial Wkend. We have only stayed at mods and deluxes for our previous trips. Got a pin# so decided to go the budget route w/ a value resort. I was very nervous about staying at a value. However, I was pleasantly surprised w/ the ASMu!!!! We stayed in the rock-n-roll building on the ground floor corner near the piano pool. I don't feel the pictures of the Music you see online does it justice. The pictures look so garish, but the actual resort didn't strick me that way. It is also more appealing at night, as most hotels are anyway. I thought the grounds were nice. I also noticed that the laterns by the fountain were flickering like they were really lit by fire. The room appeared to be the same size as the CSR. I didn't feel like we did w/out anything other than perhaps a slide at the pool. Also it would have been nice to have a bus stop at the back of the resort too. But other than that, it was very nice and I wouldn't hesitate to stay at a value resort again.

Which building were you. Standing at the Piano Pool--we were the Rock buidling to the right--ground floor as well. What a coinky-dink.

We stayed there--but probably won't again. Not enough Disney references for us. It was a nice place and I don't knock the values...
I was not pleased with my check-in experience and the theming--though it does look pretty at night.

We like the Movies better.

I have stayed at ASMu twice and loved it both times. We decided to move up to a mod recently and loved that too for different reasons. There is nothing wrong with the budget resorts at WDW. They are loaded with themeing. The mods and deluxes do not have that. The deluxes really drop the themeing with exception of the Poly. We will stay at the mods particularly POFQ as long as we can get in and afford it. If we can get a great price at a budget we are there. We love ASMu.

I totally agree with you. One thing that I really loved about the All Star Resorts.. is at night, they are lovely. The lighting is soft, and the trees make it an actual nice relaxing walk around the grounds.
(OK>> as lovely as they are, I think POR will be even more lovely in 9 days!) ;)
Would stay at ASMu again in a heartbeat.

Standing at the Piano Pool facing the Rock Inn buildings we were in the building on the left. Our room was on the ground floor, on the corner facing the other Rock Inn building. It was a great location for walking to the pool!!!!
