I just looked on AllEars at the dining menus for the different parks and resorts at WDW. In all our times visiting the Magic Kingdom, I have never seen the Plaza Restaurant which is on Main Street. Can somebody tell me exactly where on Main Street it is located? Also, with the FD plan, is this considered a Counter Service or Table Service. The menu looks super good, the sandwiches look filling and the dessert selection is perfect. I would love to know about this restaurant so I can pencil it in our tentative dining plans for our September visit to the World.

When you get to the end of Main Street USA, there is the ice cream parlor as the last store on your right side. Walk down the little street at that corner and Caseys is right there. There are some tables with umbrellas right out front along with their check in desk.

It is considered a TS restaurant. It is very nice. The ice cream is great and the view of the castle is unbeatable.

a little off Main Street. As you walk towards the castle and come to the hub/circle you take a right as if going to Tomorrowland. The ice cream shop is right on the corner (across from Casey's) and The Plaza Restaurant is just next door.

It's a simple sandwich and ice cream shop that's usually fairly quiet. The menu is not fancy but it's a nice break, especially in the summer.

The menu looks good to me too. I have always wanted to try it, I'll be there for Mother's Day!

The Plaza is a great place for a TS meal in the Magic Kingdom. It has really great milkshakes! If you are paying OOP, then it is a fairly priced meal, in an air-conditioned restaurant, although seating is limited so an ADR is recommended. While the menu is simple, we have always enjoyed the meal and had great service. If you are on the dining plan, then you are probably not getting "a deal" due to the fact that it is less expensive than the other TS restaurants. It's one of the most overlooked places, but it is definitely one of our favorites. :goodvibes

We went for the first time last Fall as a party of 6 adults and everyone loved what they ordered - and we all ordered different things. DH and I are going back next month because we liked it so much. It's a nice break from the busy park, service is great & the food is great.

We were so happy when we tried this little gem for the first time. We have always had good food and good service and it has become a staple of ours every trip...it is our last meal before we head back to the airport.

I think the Plaza was our favorite restaurant and one of the must-dos on our next trip! We decided to do it on a whim last time and thoroughly enjoyed it. The sandwiches and freshly made chips were wonderful, and the kids meals were really nice. My DD got fresh chicken strips (not breaded or deep fried) with fries, and an adorable sundae for dessert.

Plus having a beautiful sundae for dessert was an added bonus. We usually don't get dessert at our meals, but it was necessary at the Plaza. :thumbsup2

Folks say that it's not the best "value" for the money, but when you combine a fresh sandwich or salad with a banana split - how can you go wrong :confused3

I think most people complaining of "value" are on the dining plan as Plaza is one of the less expensive table service restaurants. I have eaten there twice now, and I thought it was great. It's a small restaurant but cute, and everyone I've eaten with has enjoyed it quite well. It's nice to eat a sandwich that's a bit lighter than some of the heavier fare at other table service restaurants - especially if it's really hot out. Plus, you've got the ice cream....mmmm.

I really liked this, we had a 12:55 ressie and we were their 100th guests so we got a nice certificate signed by the mayor and also free desert :D

The ice cream sundae was lovely and I had a really nice burger.

You've all convinced me. I'm trying here this summer. I'm over trying to maximize the DDP and just going where I want now, lol.

I always try to get at least one lunch in at the Plaza. Last October on my annual "mommy alone" trip :thumbsup2 I had an ADR there for lunch. Shortly after I was seated and sipping an ice tea, the hostess came over and began appologizing because they had to move me. While I didn't think it was a big deal apparently they did because dessert was on them! Apparently the table I was originally seated at was needed for a larger party; they wanted to push two together.
