Ok, I must have completely overlooked this restaurant. (And I thought I knew everything!)
Where the heck is it???
Can someone share their experience?? Do they take ADR? Is it open for MVMCP?
The Plaza is DH favorite MK place to eat. If you go up Main street, just past the bakery and the Ice Cream Parlor - take a right. The Plaza is right there. It is before you get to the rest rooms.
It is a sit down place and they do take ADR as well as walk ups - if available.
I remember going to it once prior to the opening of MVMCP - but not sure if it is open during the party.
Food is always good. DH favorite is the Ruben - he says it's the best Ruben at WDW. I usually get the burger, comes with fries. They also have a club sandwhich and a salad dish and more. (can't remember all of the food).
We always get a Milkshake, they had a candy cane one - as the special of the day last December.
They have great desserts too, but we are usually so full we don't have room.
The Plaza Restaurant has been a favorite of my family's for years and now I have my DH loving it too. He and I went there for lunch our first Disney weekend together and we often go back even when we're just there for a day trip (we usually can get a table without an ADR around 2:00 - 4:00). The food has always been good, it's small and they have plenty of servers so the wait for your food is usually short. If you like German potato salad that is a must. Last time I got a burger and potato salad and it was about $9.
The ice cream selections are a big hit. I love a good old-fashioned banana split and they do a great job (plenty of hot fudge)! My niece always get a milkshake and says it's the best.
There are no bathrooms in there, though, but they are just a short distance outside the restaurant (heading toward Tomorrow Land).
We always seem to end up eating at the Plaza while we are at MK. The food is pretty good, and definitely good for lunch and ice cream. The only issue I can say I have ever had with it is the service is often reallly slow. And I have been there many times. It cracks me and DH up because we always go when it is not busy and there are empty tables and yet the service is still really slow. It just doesn't bother us enough not to return, though. I do enjoy the food.
Thanks for the quick replies. I have eaten in almost every restaurant at MK and when someone said they just ate there I got very nervous that I missed something. I guess we always go "left" and pass Casey's and CP. I know I have been "right" to the restroom but must have walked right by the entrance. Can you get to it from inside the Ice Cream Parlor?
No...I don't think you can walk thru to the ice cream parlor. But it is easy to miss when walking past it outside. It kind of blends in and looks like it is part of the ice cream parlor.
My family ate there one day for lunch our last trip. I think it is the only sit down restaurant in MK that has grilled cheese which is about the only thing one of my DD's will eat

Ate there in December. Yum! I ahd the club sandwich (substituted fries for the german potato salad), mushroom barley soup, and a milksake (was on the Dining Plan). Soup was OK, rest was great! The sadwich is big enough for 2. My sis and I will be going back here on our next visit and will split the sandwich. A great table service meal for counter service price!
I loved the Plaza when we ate there in Oct. 05! It is now a must-do on our first day in the MK. We have an ADR for lunch there on our arrival day and I can't wait to sit down to a cheeseburger and milkshake! (My hips won't like it, but they'll have to suffer!)
