Plaza Inn lunch question

Hi! I'm in the middle of putting together our touring plan for Disneyland on August 3. We're meeting up with family who has never been, so I'm trying to make it extra special. Plaza Inn chicken is one of our favorites, and we usually wait by the door around 11:30am, so we can get in early and avoid the worst lines. When I look at the rides we are planning do and at the current fastpass patterns, it looks as if the best time for a lunch break would be 1 to 2pm! How much of an extra wait should I plan for it (compared with our usual just walking in right after they are done setting up for lunch)? Also, I love the air conditioning inside but am not holding my breath for finding inside seating at that time of day. How crowded does it tend to be, and is there at least a remote chance that we would find seating outside? Thank you so much for any experiences and advice you can spare...

I have found that eating around 2pm makes it easy to get an inside seat.

How big is your party? If it's larger than 5 and you're willing to split up it will be a lot easier to find seats.

There'll be 7 of us, so definitely a challenge to find seating together, even when it's slow. Who knows... maybe we'll get take out & find a nice spot to picnic, if it's too crowded.
