Playstation 3 How to get one

I had no idea that it was going to be this difficult to get one for XMas. I went to Toys R Us Sunday after reading in the flyer that they were taking preorders.
People were camped out there all night (it was cold and WINDY, here ont he Cape), they only gave out 6 preorders and of course those people that slept there were the ones that got one. The other hundred of us left without.

Any ideas?

That's what I did with the Xbox360. There was no way on earth I was going to wait in those lines and participate in the panic, so I waited until March and just walked into the store and bought one. I realize it's not easy when you have kids clamoring for one, but maybe you can sell it to them that there will be more games available by then and all the bugs will be worked out.

DS15 got his Wii pre-order -- by staying outside in the cold and wind all night at Toys R Us Saturday night.

Best Buy will apparently be doing the line up night(s) before the actual release dates. (At our Toys R Us the first guy in line for a PS3 had been there two nights.)

My advice? Get something else for Christmas, wait 6 months and pick up a PS3 when you can just walk into any store and buy one.

Even if you ignore all the hoops you have to go through to get one of the first ones, early batches of video game machines are notorious for having manufacturing problems. Waiting not only makes it easy to get one, it let's them get out all the kinks.

they already did all the presells here in my area for the WII
we showed up an hour before all 80 were gone given out the night before
i dont care waiting in line but if you are gonna give them out the night before tell us we would have went and waited to
walmart did a wii presale online
they are all gone already

Since you missed out on the pre order I would just wait and see if one ends up on the shelves. That's pretty much your only option unless you want to mess with ebay and the extreme prices. If you get one you do if you don't just wait a few months and they will be all over the place.
