Playon.tv question

Has anyone used Playon.tv for streaming?

We are looking to get rid of our satellite TV. We have never really considered
this before because we don't get OTA TV and there are a few things we really
like to have, like CNN.

I have been doing some searches and it looks like Playon.TV streams through your
Roku box or gaming system but offers things like CNN, CBS, Nick, and Spike TV as
well as some others.

The service is $40 per year for the first year and $20 per year after that, or $79 for a lifetime
subscription.

Anyone with experience with Playon.TV? I can't find much info on it and wanted
some input.

I gave Playon a try on our Wii. I bought the Roku & haven't added Playon to it yet, I believe it just became available again within the last month. When we were in the trial membership, it didn't stream as well as Netflix does on our Wii. The picture would freeze and depending on what we were watching, would be cropped funny. I don't know if they have adjusted any of this. I also haven't seen how this runs on the Roku.

Take advantage of the trial membership and let us know how it works on the Roku.

I actually don't have a Roku at the moment, still researching devices as well.

We do have a Wii in our basement and I can try that, although the kids and DH are the ones who like the basement TV.....I watch the one in the bedroom the most.

But I do want to give this a trial run.....also want to do a HuluPlus.com trial. We do have Netflix.

I just received an email offering PlayOn for $9.99 for a year & $19.99 a year thereafter. Let me know if you want me to send you the email. I went to the site & it looks like it is $39.99 a year through the site.
