Are playgrounds for guests of that resort only, or can you use a playground if you are dining at another resort.

We'll be staying onsite with no car and I'd like to try a couple new restaurants. But I'd feel guilty dragging my 2 1/2 year old around on the bus unless we let her play somewhere in addition to dining.

she can play. she just can't go swimming in the pools.

how about taking her out on one of the boats - you can rent them too!

To be honest, I've hardly ever even seen any kids playing on the playgrounds of the resorts at which we've stayed, so I can't imagine you'd be intruding on anyone by doing this. As the above poster mentioned, about the only kind of resort "hopping" that is forbidden is pool-hopping.

The sign at AKL said for resort guests only. However, there were rarely any kids playing on it. I really don't think there'd be a problem for your child to play there.

I don't think it would be a problem.
Every play area we passed was nearly abandoned.

just a side note:
There are signs on every playground that say that they are for use only by children age 5-12.
I thought that was odd...but figured it was for liability reasons.
But even more odd was the snarky 7 or 8 year old kid we encountered on the playground.
He approached me and my 3 year old son and asked how old my son was. I told him...and he then proceeded to tell me that this play area was for kids age 5 and up. I kindly explained to him that it was alright because I was here with him. He then started telling me that "rules are rules" blah, blah, blah.
Of course his parents were nowhere around...but I was not going to let the harrasment of this obnoxious kid deter my kids from playing.

So I say, yes...let her play...but watch out for pint-sized vigilantes ;)

We went and played at the AKL playground while waiting for our table. Do you want an active 5yo boy burning energy at the playground while waiting to be seated or bouncing in the seat next to you in a crowded waiting area? Yea, thought so that's why I took him out there! He was one of about 4 children there around 6pm on a Sunday. We took our pager with us and other families did the same. I was told by a Dad that the pager works on the entire pool, savannah, playground area. We returned to the lodge just as the pager lit up.

We were WDW resort guests, just not AKL. We were at AKL for dinner at Boma. We'll be back there and if the wait appears to be a long, I'll do the same. Either before or after dinner I think you'll be fine to give your cutie a release.

Thanks!

We only used the playground at POFQ this spring, my daughter loved it because it was small enough for her. I hadn't thought but the other playgrounds are probably designed for older children.

The playground at CSR is the opposite. Only kids age 2-6 can use it.

The playground at FW (settlement area near the boat docks) has a large play structure and a smaller play structure.
