We got to MGM kind of early and they ask us if we were there for breakfast. My husband said no but asked for cancellations. They walked us in and both of my children said great Jo Jo! thinking it would be for babies...but they kept an open mind! My daughter is 11 my son 9. My husband just wanted to eat breakfast at Hw&V. We all loved it! The host were more than wonderful! Extremely talented The food was yummy the characters were fun and the playing was a blast! My kids didn't know the Hot Dog song but they joined in the fun! I will say this... my children are fun! My 11 year old daughter is not a sourpuss pre teen and my son is a cut up. they aren't into the what if someone thinks I 'm not cool attitude...They went into the breakfast not knowing what to expect and had fun! If you have a child that is not preschool age they WILL have fun.My children both said on our next trip this breakfast is a must! Some people may not like all the interactive playing but my family loved it!
I am so happy to read your review!!! I made a ressie for myself, husband and 4 year old and were planning on leaving the 10 and 11 year old girls with someone else. They seemed sad not to be attending with us, but didnt want to eat with JO JO either. I will let them read your review and put their mind at ease either way!!!!
We're booked for this in early October as well. This will be our 4 year old son's first trip to WDW, and this meal is probably the thing he is most excited about!
If it is only staying half full I really hope they don't cancel it. We are going in October and my neice is looking forward to this more than anything else.
How much interactive playing? My family would thoroughly enjoy watching and participating from their seats, but they can be a little shy. I don't think they would want to get up out of their seats to dance and sing. What do you think? Would we be okay?
I hadn't planned on doing this meal but just in the last few weeks my 2 year old has fallen in love with the show Jo Jo's Circus and sings the theme song all the time. lol!!
But if I book it it would be for just me and her as my boys (12 and 9) would hate it!
How much interaction is there? I'll be the only non-toddler in my group, lol! So I can't see myself getting up and dancing on my own or anything like that if DD isn't into it!!!
When we got there we stopped by the cute backdrop for photos.(If I weren't such a goofball I would be able to post some pics, but that is another story for another time). We got seated and started on breakfast then the characters came out to meet everyone at the table for pics and autographs. Soon after that the 2 hosts came out and started the hot dog song. They wear the "Pop Star" wireless mic and they got everyone going moving around the room. Everyone was singing and dancing.Even if you are the only non preschooler jump up and break it down . The next song was the fish face song very fun! Our waiter said the conga line was his fav but we left before that set...had to make it to the rope drop for R&R! There were some shy little bitty ones and I noticed Goliath playing peek-a-boo to warm them up. It looked like every table had a character or the host playing with the children then they moved on around the room. Yes it was only half full and we made the comment we hope it catches on it was a great time all the way around. We loved Hollywood Minnie and Goofy at the old character meal we were sad to see it go away but this is a really fresh good change and I have no preschoolers.I can only imagine how exciting it would be if you have little ones!
It's excellent. We did it on June 28th. We went only because there's no place to eat a good breakfast at MGM. DS is nearly 15 and DD is 13. They didn't even mind. It was very empty since most didn't know about it. We ate at 8:00 and we were ready for rope drop for MGM.
Can anyone comment on which is better? Breakfast or lunch? And I heard that costumed characters tend not to speak. But it seems like these ones do, right? Do Quincy and Annie ever come? Not that it seems to matter. DS 2.5 seems to have a crush on June anyway.
