Play 4 days pass upgrade?

Friends of ours bought the Play 4 days passes for Fl. residents which expire 9/30 but can be upgraded to annual passes by 10/31. They do not want to upgrade to annual passes and offered them to us. Can we use their passes and pay the annual pass upgrade fees and get them transferred into our names?

My guess would be no. They say non-transferrable on them.
