I have read a lot of these threads. But they have not answer my questions. I am wondering if some of you can answer my questions:

We are a family of 4 Me, wife, 17yr old and 16 yr old daughters.
I have not book the plan yet. I have plane tickets already for July 19 and returning 26th good price from Boston MA to Orlando FL for total $176 pp that included taxes

This is what I would like to do is Book the first night at Grand Floridian just room then the next 6 days under a package plan which would include the Platinum plan at Grand Floridian then the last night just room only.

So wednesdays is room only thursday - tuesday would be package plan then Tuesday night would be Room only.

How hard would it be to get a park ticket for Wednesday knowing that I can not add more pack passes with the Platinum plan. Do I have to pay full price for a one day ticket?

Is "Victoria and Albert's" part of the food plan. Some people have said yes and some have said no?

Is scuba diving part of the plan?
How do I book Hoop dee doo review when I have a meal plan?
Are the Jet Ski part of this plan?
how long in adavnce do you think I should book the boat ride to watch wishes?
Has anybody use the reserved section to watch Illuminations?
if you can tell me about the pivate dining they have to offer?

This would be the first time I have made plans on using the Package. every time I have book everything on my own. I have been going to disney twice a year for the past 11 years so I do know a lot about Disney. Our best place is Grand Floridian to stay, We have found the best room. We can see Wishes and Illuminations from our Balcony, Plus other great sites. the room is one of the biggest room other than the suites. But at the same price as a regular room rate.

We have gotten the old golden room key they used to use and other great things here.

So If you can help me with this Platinum Plan it would be great

Thanks
Mike

It sounds like you've been to Disney much more often than me, but I do know from my own experience booking a plan that you will have to pay the full 1-day price for the park tickets that one day. It may be in your best interest to extend the package for that night if you plan to buy tickets. If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me. ;)

The Hoop-de-doo can be booked a year ahead of time (I just booked mine for next Dec.). You have to hold it with a credit card, but it will not be charged if you're on the dining plan (unless you don't show up or cancel in advance). It takes 2 dining credits. I have read that Victoria and Albert's is 2 credits, but don't know that first hand. Hope that helped a bit! :flower:

It was hard for me to find all the info on the premium package, but i was able to find a really good breakdown of it at Southwest Airlines vacation package site.

I tried to post the link here, but, i don't have enough posts as a member to allow me to post links yet, sorry :sad2: If you do a google search on southwest airlines vacations, then just choose some random dates and get to the point where you can see the option to choose the Premium package, you will be able to get all the info you need from there.

Hubby and I were trying to decided between the premium package and the dining package for ourselves in May, and with two older girls, it seems like the premium package may be a better bargain for your trip as well (I wouldn't suggest it for people with small children, it would not be worth it).

But by the time I figured in the park hopper option for each day for us (an add on with the regular dining package), as well as the cost of meals, the shows you are able to attend (including the Luau or Hoop Doo Revue), and the water sports, horseback riding, ect, the premium plan seemed like a better fit for us.

Hope this helps and have a great trip!!

Thank you for the info at Southwest. But I have had that info already. there are more stuff they are not telling like Jet skis at the CR I found out is part of the plan. Victoria and Albert is part of the dinner plan. I am still trying to find out the rest.

I am trying to put together a full list so if anybody else wants to go on this plan.

When we did the Platinum Plan, Parasailing was included as well. They have made some changes (that was 5 years ago) and I do not know it is it still included. Back then basically all activities were included.

AS far as I know Jetskis are covered under the platinum plan, just out of curiousity why don't you just call Disney and ask them all of your questions?

I was hoping to get a answer from poeple that go all the time. Some Disney people do not know a lot. I found out people that go have been more of the experts.

the prices I have are for 6 night at GF Lagoon View Platinum Plan:
online Disney $8,886.14
AAA $8464.70
Dreams unlimited $9000+ the most so far
I am waiting for Small World Vacations

You have almost talked me into a Platinum Plan. Keep up the good work!

My info is from '04, but it may still be valid :)

Victoria and Albert's is included - you can go as many times as you want...

We used private dining for breakfast and for chocolate covered strawberries. Just call and order and tell them you're on the Platinum Plan. If you have questions about what is or is not included, just ask. Do check your bill at check-out however, they did charge us for the strawberries, but that was quickly remedied.

DiveQuest is the scuba diving, so yes, that is included. Aqua Seas is the snorkeling version, that is the one we did, that's also included.

When you book any of the dining yourself, just mention that you're on the Plan, same thing with the tours.

I know parasailing is included, I'm pretty sure anything is, but you may want to check with Sammy Duval's to make sure.

Your pre-arrival planner is the one who must book your Wishes or Illuminations cruise, as well as the Fantasmic reserverd seating. Just a thought - if you ever wanted to try an Illuminations Cruise, now is the time. You're almost guaranteed a cruise since one of the boats is reserved solely for Plat. Plan guests, whereas if you had to book on your own it is much more difficult. By-the-way, the Fantasmic seating is the same place as that reserverd for the Fantasmic Dining Package, the only difference is that you don't have to do the dining to get the seats.

The reserved section for Illuminations used to be at the boat dock in Morocco - nothing really special...

I remember trying to research this plan and there isn't much out there, so if you have any questions, I'd be happy to help :) Have fun planning!

but if you are going to spring for the platinum plan why not get a little extra benefit from it. american airlines as a travel company www.aavacations.com if you book on their website you can get airmiles for purchasing a disney package thru them.( or if you have american airlines airmiles you can use them to help purchase your vacation.) Yes, you can pay for disney world with american airlines airmiles provided you book thru their travel company. I have used them once before and they have always been very accomodating. Just a thought.

I think I am getting good at this plan.

Thank you for all your help.

We ended up booking our trip threw AAA. it ended up costing us for 2 adult and 2 children 17,16 for $8464.72 for 6 nights at Grand Floridian with lagoon view. plus we added one more night at Grand Floridian just the room for $398.06 this was a saving of $800 on all the other prices we got. and I got a lot. So to save time AAA was the best. I tried every TA that was listed on the dis board.

What was nice I got a clock from AAA becuase we booked our trip now it was there Jan. Special. plus they could not answer a lot of my question so they sent me a Birnbaum's Walt Disney World book.

I found out everything but Petty Car school is included. so jet skis at CR are free under this plan.

Thanks for the info about the scuba i could not find that.

The hardest thing now for us is where to eat everynight :scratchin

so we already have plan for. Parasailing, jetsking, boats every day, waterski Tubing, horseback riding.

we have 185 days left :cool1:

Unless they are an AAA TA, they cannot offer you the discounted AAA package!

If you want an AAA discounted package, don't waste a regular TA's time because they cannot get it for you.

Sounds like a fun trip - Enjoy!

I was not just lookng for a AAA discount. I was looking for the best package. So I would tell people pay the $50 a year membership and get the package threw AAA if you are planning a high end trip. We saved a lot

I think what tone.def was trying to say was that unless there are other discounts available, AAA will give you the best package deal. All of the others will give you the same price as Disney gives you.

Of course, this assumes that you have a good AAA TA.

Just think 2 visits on the plan pays for 200 points at SSR which you can have until the year 2052. A lot of vacations.

I just did the Platinum plan in December. Your platinum package comes with itinerary planning - so I am going to assume the concierge from the GF will help you with your recreation and meal reservations.

We were told to book the fireworks cruise ASAP - I guess they did that about 5 months ahead when I first booked.

You can eat at V & A's every night if you wish, you can eat anywhere, see any dinner show, etc... also La Nouba if you wish.

You just tell them you want HDD, they will give you the confirmation slip for it when you check in to present at Pioneer Hall.

We saw illuminations from the Reserved area - it was the boat dock in Morocco and a very good view. It was roped off with 2 CM's 'guarding' it and we had to check in with them, our name was on their list.

I am not sure about scuba diving, but we did Dolphins in Depth - it was included on the Plan. The itinerary planner will be able to tell you.

So I guess what I am saying is the most important thing you need to do after booking is get in contact with your planner and have them start making bookings for you.

Have fun planning!

We did have an ongoing problem with the plan though, no locations recognized that snacks were included. You get a food and drink item as a snack (ie) cookie and coffee, coke and pretzel, popcorn and drink. but whenever we tried to get our snacks the CM looked at our card and the computer and were baffled. They said we didn't have snacks on our plan... well, yes of course we did - so I would charge whatever we were wanting to the room and then later the concierge would remove the charges and apologize.

This happened every day, at every location whenever we tried to get something for a snack. It was a pain.

Make sure you pick up your 'keepsake' included with the plan, mine was a large platter & vase, I am not sure if they change this gift and you will get the same or not, but it is pretty nice.

We had so much on the go we didn't have time to see La Nouba, we were able to give our tickets away with no problem so they didn't go to waste.

That's about all I can think of for now, let me know if you have any other questions.

I am not sure about scuba diving, but we did Dolphins in Depth - it was included on the Plan. The itinerary planner will be able to tell you.

All of the tours offered at WDW with the exception of the Wildlife Discovery Excursion at the AK come with the platinum package I do believe. I'm fairly certain when I looked over my paperwork, it did include all the scuba 'tours' in epcot.

Let me add that you should seriously take advantage of the pre-trip planning assistance that comes with the plan. I contacted the poly after I had booked the trip (I didn't wait on them to contact me. I would highly recommend that you contact the GF instead of waiting on them to contact you :) Gets the ball rolling more quickly!) and was then sent a worksheet to fill out with all the adrs, tours, etc that we wanted to take. My planner then went ahead and called and made all my adrs at the 6 month + 10 day mark and took care of our La Nouba tickets too. You will want them to take care of your cruise as there is a seperate boat that is usually reserved just for folks on the platinum plan. They will put you on that boat.

Make sure you pick up your 'keepsake' included with the plan, mine was a large platter & vase, I am not sure if they change this gift and you will get the same or not, but it is pretty nice.

Ooooo. That sounds neat. I figured the keepsake was going to be something like a picture frame. I'm definitely excited to see what keepsake we get now in May.

Would you like to see a photo of it? or would that spoil the surprise? :)

Let's not spoil the surprise. I'd hate to be terribly let down if I fall in love with you got and that ends up not being our keepsake :)
