I've never done the platinum plan with dining before, only the Premium package with dining. I know you get the 3 meals plus a snack, however I understand that this snack is different from the DDP snack - here you get a snack item plus drink. How does this work? Do you get two sets of credits - one set for BLD and one set for snacks or is it more like 4 credits per person per day like it was back on the DreamMaker packages? Since the "snack" is more than what you get on DDP, has anyone had problems with CM's being confused b/w what "snack" you get?

Any personal experiences with this would be greatly appreciated.

You can read about the Platinum plan for 2007 here:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneypackages-2007.htm#myplatinum

When the Grand Floridian opened, we did this package, I think they were still working out the kinks as we did not get what we were suppose to on the package. Seems at the time, a castmember placed us in a different part of the resort and we were suppose to be on the concierge floor, we missed out on the concierge part of it.. I have not done it since....but then it was called the Grand Plan....I am sure Disney has it down pat now and if you did the plan, you would speak up if something was amiss. We were still novices at WDW...it would never happen now, I would make sure our room was changed, etc. etc.

I think a lot of the CMs in the parks get confused about the Platinum snack option. I know that the platinum planner for the Poly and WL always goes through everyone's room accounts and fixes any snacks that are posted to the room charge instead of the plan.

As for the concierge access, I know the Poly gives platinum guests concierge access, but I also know the WL doesnt :confused3 I guess that's just a decicion of the resort management.

Thanks for the link Mackey Mouse...we also printed out the 2007 brochure from disney's site.

Good to know that the planner will go and fix anything that is charged incorrectly.

As for concierge access, we aren't expecting it at CR, and to be honest I don't think we'd use it anyway.

We were thinking about the Platinum Plan, but we decided we would have to spend most of our trip trying to get our money's worth and were left with very little park time. Not to mention, we would prob gain 10 pounds for the week we were there.

The platinum and premium plans aren't for everyone, however they are exactly what my husband and I like when in disney. We would have gone platinum for our honeymoon, however that package was not available then. Personally we don't find that our park time is limited by trying to "get our money's worth." Maybe it's because we go so often that we don't want to spend all day in the parks and actually prefer our vacation to include recreation and fine dining every day. Again that's why disney offers so many different options.
