I currently have the upgraded Platinum AP, from my usual Gold. It's time to renew, but I'm not given the option of going back to Gold on the website. Do I have to call Member Services, or go to Guest Services when I'm actually in Disney?

And unless you are going soon to WDW, you need to call if you want to renew; the renewal window is 60 days before expiration to 30 days after.

Had no issue dropping to gold 2 weeks ago at MK.

Used a tix from UT was surprised to not get a bridged rate. Told they only will do so for new AP not a renewal

Asked to have supervisor verify and told the same thing

Bridging as a whole has become more complicated since tickets now have expiration dates. They bridge to the historical value of that specific ticket and not the current price with later expiration dates. Plus, applying the value of a ticket to a renewal is an uncommon transaction that very few CM’s seem to know how to process.

The supervisors (inside MK) explained it was a recent policy change

Real feel close to 110 degrees and only $65 dollars difference, not worth disputing it for me

You will only see the DVC options if you are logged in as a DVC Member. This usually means that when you reach the AP page, you have to log in again so they recognize you as DVC. Once you log in again, you should see the DVC options.

^But unless something has changed the only DVC AP options you can see and purchase online are new passes not renewals. Thus, to renew a pass, to the same AP or to a different one like the Gold, still requires calling MS.

Okay, thanks. I'm heading down in two weeks, so I can renew there. Doesn't expire until Oct 3.

I can renew my son's DVC Platinum Plus online signed in as a DVC member on the regular WDW site. For a pass that expired 8/8. Just saw it today. It would let me renew to the same kind of pass but I want to renew it to Gold. On hold with MS for 30 minutes so far-boo.

But the option is there if that helps someone else.
