Platinum and Gold in one stateroom question

Hopefully, this isn’t too confusing of a question...

If I (gold) book a stateroom with my placeholder and am traveling with a platinum member in my room, can we book excursions and such when platinum opens (after paid in full, of course), or do we have to wait for the Gold time to open since I booked the room and am “lead” on the reservation?

Does this make sense?
