Are there parkhoppers that are plastic (credit card type) instead of the paper ones? If so, where can I order those?

The only plastic ones I have seen were for sale at local So Cal grocery stores..

The only time we were ever able to get the pastic was through the Disney/Costco trip packages. The paper ones held up well in August.

Thank you for the info! Was hoping that we would get plastic ones if I ordered the PH's from Disney's website. If they are still going to be paper, I might as well get them at a discount from another website.

We ordered ours through the disney website and they came as the plastic type. They were the 6 for 4 Day ones from back in the summer.

I got plastic when I ordered a package thru Disney Travel, we loved them and they did hold up better. When we had paper they also held up but we were more cautious with them as a rule. :)

So if we buy them from Disney's website or the Disney Store, we can just go right to the turnstiles with that card and not have to go to one of the windows?

Just to let everyone know. I ordered the 6 day parkhopper from Disney's website and...it was paper. :rotfl2: Oh well!

That's sad! I saw the plastic card type ones in the store this weekend. I don't know if they were the 6 day though.. They might have only been 3 days.

My local grocery stores sell plastic Disney park hoppers, as does our Disney store. The ones at the Disney store sell 3, 4, & 5 day passes. I've only seen 3 day passes at the grocery store.(central cal)

I usually get mine through my local AAA (CSAA/Auto Club) travel department. Same low price as online but you get free parking. You can buy up to a certain number of days ticket direct from the counter at the AAA office (2 or 3 days, can't recall which) but those are paper tickets. Ordering through their travel department (I usually get 4 day hoppers) I have always gotten the plastic ones. They take a week or so to arrive normally. I think you can get them faster, possibly with an expedite fee if you need them ASAP. The ones I get from them are usually dated for my trip though, so if your plans are subject to change then this might not be the best option.

Currently we have APs so we don't need to order tickets for ourselves, but for an upcoming trip we are bringing a guest along and I ordered a 4 day hopper from Disney's web site and got a paper ticket. I was a little disappointed -- I was hoping for plastic. The plastic ones are more durable. You don't have to worry about them getting soaked after one too many trips on a water ride.

Will be purchasing parkhopper tickets from Disneyland.com so we should be getting paper tickets at the entrance gates.

What happens if the parkhoppers take a beating (like getting too wet) and start to show a lot of general wear and tear. Is it possible to turn in the "beat up" paper parkhopper and get it replaced with another paper parkhopper?

Thanks.

I'm sure so long as it's recognizable, even if it's beat up, you can get it replaced. It will just take some time. These tickets are more a cardboard, not paper, so even if they do get wet they should dry without falling apart and survive for up to six days (because that's the longest ticket I see on disneyland.com). It's fun to joke about it, but I've never heard of anyone's ticket falling apart during their trip yet.

I still much prefer the plastic tickets. When next I'm in need of daily tickets I'll go through my AAA travel agent to get them.

Our first trip we had paper hoppers, we had no problems with them at all, they lasted just fine. But I kept the paperwork just in case something did happen to them, that way I could prove they were ours if we needed to get them replaced.
