Plastic Chairs used for Ceremony?

Hopefully, someone can help me out with this question...My fiance and I really don't want to use the plastic chairs for our ceremony and was going to upgrade them to the wooden chairs which were $5 each. Then, I remembered I saw a while back that there is an outrageous delivery fee for the wooden chairs on top of the rental fee. Is this correct? Would it be cheaper to have chair covers instead? Also, I planned on having chair covers at my reception site. Would I have to rent the chair covers for the ceremony site and then rent the same exact chair covers for the reception site?...or will Disney allow me to reuse my chair covers at both the ceremony and my reception site. I am getting married outside at Disney's Boardwalk Inn Poolside Green and my wedding is at Atlantic Dance Hall.
Thank you! :goodvibes

The delivery fee is I believe $75 for the wooden chairs. Chair covers are $8.50. So you have to do the math with how many chairs you need.

No you cannot transfer the chair covers, you'd have to rent a whole new set.

I noticed that for Irisbud's wedding she had different chairs - they looked like the white wooden ones but she hadnt upgraded to wooden chairs - it maight me wonder if Disney had changed their plastic seats?

The delivery fee for wooden chairs varies by location - for us it would have been something like $200 in Epcot, so the math worked out in favor of the $8.50 chair covers.

Disney is now using plastic folding chairs that look just like their wooden chairs at Sea Breeze Point. However, I don't know if these are the same chairs you would get at a BoardWalk Inn ceremony (though it seems probable, considering how close the sites are).

Thanks for that - I hated the old plastic chairs - the new ones are much nicer (for plastic chairs :rotfl:)

:earseek: Oy vey I wish I knew about this! Now I don't know if it's worth it to pay for the covers. Thanks for the info :thumbsup2

I was married 12/8/08 at SBP and looking back at my pictures, we had the plastic folding chairs. I do not have a good picture uploaded, but I will look through my cd tonigh and upload a better picture. :)

Here's a picture.

 I never noticed my chairs! They were like the ones in Jenna77's picture though. I had to go back and look.

Funny, because I was worried about the craptastic plastic chairs but didn't want to upgrade when we found out we would only have 7 guests, 2 of which were bridesmaids.

On the day, I never thought twice about it :thumbsup2

They were better than the nasty ones though, so maybe that's why I didn't notice :confused3 :rolleyes1

I was married 12/6/08 @ SBP and requested the wooden chairs and had wooden (not plastic) chairs. I actually just went through some candids of people arriving to be sure b/c since we didn't sit down (obviously) I had no clue if there had been a switcheroo.

Here's the wooden chairs (not the most attractive pic) but you can see the difference b/w them and the plastic:

I had the wooden ones, too. But if they had been using those nice plastic ones I wouldn't have bothered. I just didn't like the lawn chair type plastic ones.

I still like the wood chairs, but agree that the plastic folding ones are a MUCH nicer alternative to those other plastic chairs. :)

Carrie,

Is there a delivery fee for the chair covers? What chairs does disney use underneath the chair covers? Are they banquet chairs and is there a fee you have to pay on top of buying the chair covers for $8.50 each?

No - there is no delivery fee or any other fee for chair covers. They throw them on whatever chairs come with the venue - which seems to be plastic ones outdoors and padded banquet chairs indoors. I didn't sit in our ceremony chairs, though - I guess they could have brought out banquet chairs from American Adventure Rotunda or someplace, but I am betting they were the black plastic chairs they use outdoors at Epcot.

Thanks for the help. I found from my planner that the delivery fee for the wooden chairs at the BoardWalk is also $200 so i am going to go with chair covers. For 60 guests, it's coming out to almost the same price. My planner sent me a pic of the new folding plastic chairs. They look pretty nice. I was just going to go with those. However, my planner said they only have 40 of them at the moment.

Interesting - and good to know! :thumbsup2 Gee, maybe you could just buy DFTW the extra 20 new chairs for cheaper than covering 60 chairs will cost! :rotfl:
