What do you do when you are at WDW NYE? Do you hit the parks, DTD, or Boardwalk? Also what special activities do they have? I think I saw someone mention that boardwalk has a DJ on the 4th in the grass area, so they do that for NYE too? Thinking of going next year for NYE and wondered what all was available to do. Thanks!

We love Epcot on NYE. We like to do dinner at one of the WS sit downs, and then take in Illuminations for the midnight countdown. Last time we were there (2007), we were able to have an almost private viewing spot for Illuminations, because one of our guests was in a wheelchair, and we reserved one of the handicapped spaces early in the day. We were able to walk into the HA area and had only a couple of people around us. They allow all in the party to accompany the wheelchair person.

We were there this past NYE at EPCOT and stayed the whole time. They even had DJs play different types of music all thru out the different staging areas placed around EPCOT. It was a Blast walking around and listening and dancing to all the music being played. But boy were the bathrooms line very, very long.

we are going for NYE and was wondering if any DVC have special events---esp. looking for things for kids (8, 12). WE are staying out of the parks on NYE and looking for other things to do. Thanks, Elaine

BW had a DJ on the Village Green on NYE this year. Kids and adults were having fun dancing. They also gave out hats. Some of the EPCOT fireworks are visible from the BW, and if you have a BW view room you get a great view from the balcony.

We did DHS a few years ago on NYE and it was a party. They handed out top hats and noise makers to everyone on the way into Fantasmic. And the music played all over the park just got louder and more fun as the night went on. Lots of fun, seemed like maybe a lot of teens, maybe locals?? Don't know for sure, but we had a lot of fun.

We stayed at BWV for NYE and if it were up to me, I would do that every year! Don't forget that MK has the NYE fireworks on the 30th as well as the 31st, so that's where we were on the 30th, MK.

Epcot had 2 fireworks on NYE, one was around 8:30, for families with children, that's what was announced, and then the one that began around 11:40. The first one had the "Christmas, holiday tag" the second didn't but what they had was very very good!

We have a runner in the 1/2 marathon in January '10, and we're going in December for our Christmas visit, but from 2010 on, I want to be in WDW every NYE that I can be, it was great!!!:goodvibes
