Plans changed, when to go now?

We had made plans to take the family to the world in late fall this year as we have been unable to make our yearly trip for the last two years and everyone is in need of a disney fix. We were planning to go either late October or the first week of December. Dh just started a new job and was told that because he is new he will have his holidays set for him. He's been given a week in July and a week at Christmas. So now we need to decide if we go during on of these weeks or save our money and go next year instead. I know both of these weeks will be crazy busy and we were hoping to aviod the huge crowds especially since we will have a toddler with us. What do you all suggest?

I've been there twice in July. Once for two weeks that went through the July 4th holiday and once right after that starting around the 15th. The time around the 4th is a total nut house. The crowds in the parks were at times shoulder to shoulder...no joke. The other time I went later it was completely different by comparison. It was still busy but very managable. We have gone many times in the summer so it is Ok for us because we are used to it.

If your other week is over the Christamas holidays that would likely be busier than July. Also, more expensive. Christmas is it's own season at WDW.

If you really want to go this year than just do it. Mentally prepare yourself for it to be busy and then it never seems that bad. Plan to hit the parks for rope drop and go back to the resort mid-day and then back to the park in the evening. It is a good plan to follow when it's busy and hot.

Another idea for you.....could you go for a long weekend this year and save the big vacation for next year????

I didn't even think about a long weekend trip if we could find affordable airfare thats a great idea!

If you go over a holiday weekend and your hubby could take 1-2 days off you would get a decent amount of time.
