Planning Weddings for those Not-yet Engaged!

So if I was going to get married anytime soon, I would have my dd give me away, 1 moh, 1 bridesmaid, and a 14 yo flower girl . I am so in the mood to talk weddings.

I think I want an escape wedding. Does anything much about it?

BTW. I broke up with James a few weeks ago. For someone who had really caught my attention. That's all for now. :lmao:

I wanted an Escape wedding also...but the 20 guest including B&G is coming a little to short for me, we both have bigh families. I'm thinking I might do a Wishes wedding for around 40 or 50 people, but it has to be within a budget of around $10,000, that's what my family is willing to spend. :rotfl:

I can think of about maybe 7, 8 people tops I would invite, so depends if i marry someone who wants a lot of people there. :lmao:

ugh..my multiple reply options haven't worked well lately....lol
anyways :

I have a wedding question. Would it be tacky for my 15 yo dd to give me away? She is my best friend and should have an important part. My Dad passed away 3 years ago. Would it look weird for a girl to walk me down? Will she feel weird with the phrase "giving me away". Or should she be my maid of honor and I walk alone? Opinions?

I dont think it's tacky at all!! I think it's a wonderful idea

Did James ever make it here? I'm sorry it didn't work out...but at least now you know

I finally broke down and admitted to dbf that I wanted to get married at Disney. He kept talking about how many people he wanted in the wedding and I know he wants it big. We had a discussion about it and he thinks I want a small wedding because I have done it once before...but in reality I have always wanted a small wedding but didn't get that the first time. He said Disney sounded great, but there are like 4 or 5 people that he was in their wedding and he thinks it would be rude not to invite them...but he sounded open minded about it.

We are more than likely paying for it ourselves because I would NEVER expect my parents to help out since they helped pay for the first one. 10,000 for a wishes wedding is a bit high. I told him we could have a HUGE reception when we get back but....I guess we will see.

On a side note, we decided to go to Disney in June...and it will be not only dbf's birthday...but it will be the anniversary of our first date!! YAY!

Sorry for butting in to this thread......

I don't think that it is tacky at all for your DD to give you away. It sounds like a sweet way to include her in your wedding. I also like the idea of having her be your MOH. My DD 12 was my MOH at our wedding in May. It really made her feel special. We also had a family unity ceremony in the wedding where DH and I gave DD a locket and recited special "family" vows to each other. :lovestruc

Thank you, I appreciate your post, you're not butting in. That is sweet about the family unity ceremony. BTW I love your pics.

I know it's a bit high, but it's less than I would probably spend on a wedding here. :rotfl:

Awww that's great that he was open minded and that you are going to disney in June!

$10,000 was what I spent on my first wedding, and while it was nice...it was not anything spectacular. And probably really low for this area.

I'm so exicted!! He hasn't been since he was little and we are going with friends of mine.

His birthday is the day we arrive and I am thinking about taking him to ESPN club for dinner and giving him private golf lessons the next morning

Yes, I love her pictures!!

See I picture something much smaller...dbf wants like 6 groosmen and I can't think of anyone. I just don't want a bridal party. I want something very intimate with our immediate family and maybe a few friends.

He did agree to have my brother be our officiant  ...that is if he moves home from Korea:sad1:

He actually liked the idea of getting married at Disney!

I have never been married so I want big bridal party, but small an intimate.
Probably less than 100 people.

Why is your brother in Korea?

dd's bff would be my flower girl/more like Junior bridesmaid.

The saddest, part of my invites is that my dd is the only member of my family who will be invited.

I need to start planning up on this, so I need a little help. I'm leaving for WDW in a few weeks time and I'm planning to get DBF his Christmas gift there. I want it to be something especial as I want to include a big hint at our future somewhere in it, a proposal of sorts. So I need suggestions, what do you avid Disney fans think I should get him from the WDW itself? Last year I got him the best BF Mickey award, but I'm out of idead this time...

Wow, I don't know, I will have to think.

I bought our Twilight tickets yesterday, I already took a half a day vacation Friday so we are going to the 4:00 feature when they get out of school.
