Planning Weddings for those Not-yet Engaged!

awww. please make sure your humance society is no kill(ours in our old town wasn't...so we took strays to the local no kill shelter!) too bad she wouldn't let you keep the kitty! I wouldn't have been able to leave the poor baby outside no matter what..lol..that baby would have been inside with a big meal and sleeping in my lap in no time...lol

If it was up to me, that little one would've been inside too....but alas it wasn't :(.

I went out this morning, and it wasn't there anymore :( I think one of my parents scared it away....

Happy Birthday! (wait, is it on the 15th?) I'm very jealous you got to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra, I love them. Sounds like DBF did a good job for your birthday :thumbsup2

Yeah, my birthday is the 15th, but he won't be able to be down here for then, so he came last night. I feel bad for the poor guy though, he didn't leave here til midnight because we bought shirts and had them signed, and then he had a 3 hour drive back to his town. On top of that, he had to be at work at 11am this morning....

The concert ROCKED! I loved it!!! The lights almost blinded me a couple times though :rotfl:

My DBF flew to Baton Rouge today for an interview. After last time neither of us are getting our hopes up (and to be honest, I'm not too excited about the possibility of moving there :sad2: ) Have any of you guys been to Louisiana? I've never been, so I have no idea what its like there. DBF tried to tell me that since its the south, there will probably be killer sweet tea and apparently that should be reason enough for me to want to/be excited about moving there  :rotfl:

Louisana can't be that bad....it's has to be better than Florida in my opinion. If we didn't have Disney World here, I would hate it even more than I do now LOL. I'm looking to go to New England after my associates to get my bachelors. DBF is supportive to go there for college to get a taste of what its like, but he won't be to happy if I decide I love it and want to stay there...

28 days 'till WDW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cannot wait! I'm visiting the WP on the day I get there, hehehe

Yay for going to WDW!! :dance3: :woohoo: :cool1: :cheer2: :yay: :cool2:
You'll have a wicked time!

ETA: I just got off the phone with my knee doctor, and after two years, I was able to schedule my knee surgery. We just couldn't put it off anymore....so it'll be on December 12th, the day after my last day of exams and our tree trimming party, at 1pm.....I'm so nervous.....

BTW, Arelys, can I have your AIM?

I'm sending you a PM as soon as I post this :goodvibes

Yes they will have killer sweet tea. :lmao: Where are you from? Most of my family lives in Louisiana, although I've never lived there. Just spent every summer there when I was a kid. My Godparents live on the outskirts of Baton Rouge.

Good to know! :rotfl: I'm from Virgnia/New Jersey/South Florida. Is it nice there? Is there a lot of stuff to do? My biggest worry about moving from Florida to there is going from one hurricane prone state to another

Aw that is so sweet that he came to visit you! I'm glad you had a good time and you got to see him :goodvibes

I actually kind of love Orlando. I hate South Florida, but Orlando is a complete other story. If it weren't for the fact that both DBF and I are having a hard time finding a different job here, we would both be very happy living here. DBF is from New England (Connecticut to be exact) and he loves it up there. What area of New England are you looking at? I've never been, but I love Boston (how that makes any sense is beyond me) and I would love to live there. I'm dying to see the season change. Hot, hotter, hot as hell and hurricane season are not enough for me :rotfl:

Good luck with your surgery  What are you getting done?

Yeah, I'm glad I got to see him. He actually is coming down Sunday for my family dinner as well. We thought he was going to be working, but he isn't!

I'm looking at Massachusetts and Maine for schools mainly, particularly the University of Southern Maine, Salem State College, and Bridgewater State College. All within 2 hours of Boston, which I LOVE!

Thanks for the well-wishes for my surgery:hug:. I'm getting it done on my knee, which has been giving my problems for at least the last 2 years, I'm just so nervous:scared1:. It'll stink that I won't be able to walk for Christmas or to go to Epcot with DBF on New Years Eve....he's going to be so disappointed :(....he doesn't know about it yet, I figured I'd tell him Sunday...

UPDATE ON THE KITTY NOW KNOW AS MITTENS!
My mom agreed that the kitten (who we named Mittens) can be an outdoor pet. Which is good, because I don't think it wants to be an indoor cat anyway , I was taking groceries in with the door wide open, and it never went near the door. Though that might have something to do with the fact that the dog was standing right there....

They flew him out to Chicago, sent a limo to pick him up and everything, only for him to get a generic e-mail a few days later saying they didn't have any positions for him at the moment. It was a pretty big bummer for us both, but it's all good now.

I've only ever been to the Atlanta airport during 2 hours layover :rotfl:

Aw you get to see him twice in less then a week! I bet you are ecstatic about that.

Mass and Maine would be such different environments from Florida. I'm sure the first winter would be a shock :scared1: Have you always lived in Florida?

I had major knee problems when I was younger and almost had to have surgery, but I refused because with the surgery there would have been a chance I would have never been able to dance ballet again. I said hell no, I'll deal with the pain. I still have some issues, but since I stopped dancing it has gotten a lot better. Although, running isn't helping much and lately I've been hurting  It is something with the tendons or ligaments? Or something entirely different?

Yay for the kitten!

Yeah, I was born and raised in South Florida. I've never even seen snow yet, so it'd definitely be an experience!

Thanks for reconfirming my fear, you're a doll :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:. It's just unavoidable anymore, the longer I wait, the worse the recovery would be my doctor says.

Yeah, it has to do with loose ligaments and a torn meniscus (sp?). I've always had problems with it going out, because apparently the bone that holds the knee cap in place is to shallow...but it's been worse in the past 2 years...

Yes yay for kitten! I should really get out of bed and feed it...I'm just SO TIRED!

Morning girls :) sneychickforever Yay about the kitten! I am not a cat person but I can understand wanting to keep the little guy.

I also have knee problems, luckily no surgery needed...the dr say exercise!! Yuck.

I am just sitting here working. I was supposed to hang out with dbf last night but we got into a fight and I went home alone. This morning at 5 a.m. I got a call from him that he missed me and instead of coming over this afternoon he was at my door!:lovestruc He's sleeping while I'm working.

Weathers getting cold this weekend! Maybe that means snow....:cloud9:

Have a great day girls!!

Aw, fighting stinks. DBF and I had a "debate" last night, but we were able to resolve it pretty quickly...that's so sweet that he was at the door at 5am though! Sounds like a keeper Mandy ;)

Oh lucky you Mandy! I'd love to see snow!!

HE PROPOSED WITH BELLA’S ENGAGEMENT RING.

"I love my girlfriend, and I have to say I love her a lot more than Robert “Robward” Pattinson or Edward Cullen loves her. I love her so much I intend to marry her one day.

We’ve been going out for seven and a half years now and every day has brought me something new, but none as much as her latest obsession of the Twilight books. You see, Marianne and I met in high school when we were sixteen years old, and being introduced to Twilight made me feel like I was dating my sweet sixteen year old girlfriend again.

Unlike some of the other guys I know dating girls obsessed with the books, my girlfriend never insisted that I read the series, but her obsession was making me curious. Now being as obsolete to books as I am, I walked into a book store forgetting the name of the Twilight novel and asked for a book with a girl holding an apple. I intended to surprise my girlfriend by reading it before she inevitably asked me to.

Anyway, the clerk behind the counter was a man, an old man, and he showed me Snow White.

I knew it wasn’t that… so I decided to look for myself and ended up finding Eclipse. It was a small bookstore and I was too scared to get caught buying Twilight in a larger one like Borders, so I bought Eclipse instead and read it. All of it. The Edward character inspired me to want to propose to my girl even sooner than before because he reminded me of how much I loved her.

A few nights later after reading the book, Marianne was intending to buy a t-shirt to wear to the opening release of Breaking Dawn in August and she had the Twilight Teez website open on her computer. I promised I would buy her the shirt and that’s when I came across Bella’s engagement ring.

It finally arrived three months later (give or take) and my plan was simple. I had bought a new bed frame despite there being nothing wrong with the old one. I even went so far as to get one with rose panels. She was confused when I showed her the new frame, but then I intentionally proposed to her the same way Edward did,

“I promise to love you forever - every single day of forever. Will you marry me?”

But it was her face that was most priceless, when she recognized the words I was saying and the ring that she was staring at in its black velvet box. Her reaction was dissimilar to Bella’s -- she screamed and nodded and said “Oh my Cullen!” a lot -- and I kissed each of her fingertips and the ring that was now hers. I’ve since read all other books in the Twilight series and we plan to get married next Spring."

Aw, that's so sweet!

I know. :lovestruc

I don't particularly like Bella's engagement ring, but I would literally die if DBF proposed with the same words Edward used in the book because I cried my eyes out reading that part, lol

After reading Bellas engagement story...just couldnt remember if I told ya'll about my dream a few weeks back... I dreamed that on our family trip to WDW in May, as we stepped onto Main St and rounded the curve to see the castle, DBF proposed.. it was awesome!! I told him about my dream and he said
'shhh.. if you keep dreaming stuff I'll never be able to surprise you with anything'.
lol

I didn't mean it like that! It's good that you are getting it done now, before it gets any worse.

Laura - That is a really sweet story. I told DBF that you could buy the ring from the Twilight books and that some guy proposed with it and he just goes "Why would I buy that ring when I could just get the ring from Lord of the Rings" :rotfl:

LOL! :rotfl:

I'm gonna tell my DBF about the proposal story next time I see him and I'll see what he says, hehe

I have a wedding question. Would it be tacky for my 15 yo dd to give me away? She is my best friend and should have an important part. My Dad passed away 3 years ago. Would it look weird for a girl to walk me down? Will she feel weird with the phrase "giving me away". Or should she be my maid of honor and I walk alone? Opinions?

that is definitely not tacky...that is sweet. I mean there are plenty of people that have their mothers give them away and having your DD do it wouldn't be so different...she could also be your maid of honor as well...she can just move over the side after the "giving away" is done! :thumbsup2

That's so sweet and lovely! :goodvibes

I've never had a good relationship with my dad, so I decided when I was a little girl that I would have my grandfather give me away at my wedding. He passed away three years ago, so I was very sad that he wouldn't be there. Now i've decided to have my brother give me away.

Its not tacky. Jordan is going to give me away. Although I am sure he will try to sell me first...:lmao:
