\Cheers and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

My family and I are planning a post Christmas trip to Paris next year...(Dates tentatively-arrive on December 27th and fly home on January 3rd-so 7 nights)....

I know at WDW in Florida the whole (2?) weeks from about December 21/22-January 2 are positively manic at the parks...(in case anyone is ever interested we did a trip one year the week right before -December 15-21-and it was wonderful-all the decorations with very manageable crowds...)

Anyhow I was hoping to glean from Everyone's experience this year regarding crowds and what not when we should go and if staying over a night would make any difference (we weren't planning on renting a car since our trip would focus on Paris with perhaps a daytrip to Versailles and Disney)

I've read that much (most) is closed on New Year's Day in Paris -so is that a good day or does every one desend on the parks since they are open? Or should we pick a different day?

Also conflicted as to whether we should consider an overnight stay or not-as you can see below we've been to both parks in the US multiple times (any questions-feel free to ask :) ) and we primarily wanted to to get the flavor of the place -still smarting from a couple years ago when we were in London for spring break and my son (who was only 3 at the time) still asks why we didn't go to Legoland Windsor...ouch-(actually because mommy was feeling under the weather that day) and we missed Legoland CA last spring...double ouch :sad2: -and yes I am incredibly aware that my children are fortunate to have taken the trips they have and they are amazingly sweet, smart, polite kids-even the teenager :thumbsup2 but missing the CA Legoland makes me feel a teeny bit bad...

So I guess this whole ramble comes down to two things...1. best day/days that week for day trips and 2.would staying overnight make for a different experience and is it worth the logistics of moving our luggage from Paris (I guess we'd need to rent a car???)

Anyhow any and all info is appreciated....

Thanks for the help,

Patricia

We went last year between Christmas and New Year and it was very very busy.
weve done Christmas/New Year at WDW twice and it seemed much busier at DLP

Staying overnight would be great, and you'd get more time. But as long as you only had one case each, its only a short train journey to DLP and I think the driving over there (in the city) can get very manic! SO if you do go just get the train.

Could you extend your stay a bit and visit DLP like 4/5th Jan? WIll still be xmassy but hopfully not as crowded - and a lot cheaper!! :)
