Hello!
My fiance and I are going, along with both sets of parents, for our planning session. I was told that Disney cannot confirm a tasting until 2 weeks prior to the actual planning session (it depends on the availability of the kitchen staff).

I hate the thought of spending money on a trip and possibly not being able to taste the food for the big day! Can anyone provide insight? Were you able to get the tasting for the planning session or not? Any tips on how to guarantee the tasting???

I'm interested in this too... our planning session will be after I graduate - beginning of August. :sunny:

Happylalagirl, our planning session is at the beginning of August too. Ours is penciled in on the 7th. When's yours? :)

well.. we were supposed to have a tasting (im a chef) and we didnt :furious:
I was really looking forward to it since i really want to create some of my own dishes. oh well! I hope you all get it!

I am supposed to have a tasting but it is not the same day as my planning session- I did not know anything about not being able to confirm until 2 weeks out- huh?

We im leaving on Friday to go to WDW and my planning session is on the Friday after but i have not had confirmation about whether or not we can have a tasting session yet. Im a bit concerned now as this was one of the main reasons i was going.

Laurafoster, I'd say go ahead and give them a call to confirm it! Actually, before this post I'd never heard of the two week confirmation rule, but you're definitely within the time period to confirm it. Let us know what happens.

Agree w/ Starflower- I have never heard of this. In fact was not able to book my tasting for the same day b/c the kitchen was busy with a convention. She never said a word about confirming 2 wks out.

disney & the catering at the resorts do try to accomodate brides, as long as you are open with a few days during your trip you should be fine. make sure you let your em know the dates of your planned trip so she/he can put the request in for a tasting & planning session also let them know there will be additional persons cheeks605 our tasting session preplanning sheet said only 4 could be accomodated.

we did our planning session in november for our march 21st custom wedding. it was a beneficial meeting at francks & the tasting was alot of fun, we had chef steve at the yacht club. my em sent me an email on the tasting like 2 weeks before on what we wanted to taste since we had some custom items for our menu.

I emailed my EM and she said it is actually confirmed for the day of my planning visit, just a little later during theday. Glad ive got that sorted out. She never mentioned what i would be tasting though?

We ran into that problem...my fiance ended up not getting to taste anything...I had to go back two months later with my parents. dh was sad, but it wasn't the end of the world:)
