Wow, so glad to have found this forum.

We are a family of 4 that are wanting to plan a trip to Disney world in April. Either the week of April 3rd or the week of April 10th. Does anyone know when Spring Break is? Just want to hopefully avoid that if possible.

Also are we realistic in the sense that we haven't actually booked our trip yet for those dates. Will rooms still be available at the resort hotels at Disney.

Speaking of hotels at Disney. I read on here that many of you have stayed at the Port of Orleans and really liked it. So we are checking into that. I noticed on the Disney site that the Disney Club Resorts are the only ones with kitchenettes. Not sure what those resorts are, can anyone fill me in. Also the cabins look like they have kitchenettes. How far are the cabins to the attractions? Are they too on the Disney resort property?

Do any of the hotel rooms have microwaves or little fridges? We will be buying food to bring and will have 2 out of 3 meals a day at our hotel room to save on costs.

Thanks in advance, I'm sure I'll have many more questions (:

Hi and WELCOME to the boards!!
April has spring breaks all through it. I'm not really sure which week would be better. We are going the last week in April and that is the week I have been concentrating on so maybe someone will be able to help you more with that one.

I'm sure you can still book a room but i would get right on it so you can get a room that you really want.
I want to suggest checking a couple sites. Allearsnet.com and mousesavers.com you will hear a lot about these sites. They are wonderful. Check many of the threads on here about the different resorts this will really help you to decide.

I have not stayed in the cabins but have heard great things about them. They are on WDW property

The deluxe resorts and I think the moderates have fridges at no cost.

If you are thinking of eating some meals in your room I would really think about getting a cabin. People who have stayed there can tell you some great things about them. Good luck!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Spring breaks vary by region. The entire months of March and April are usually considered spring break time at WDW. Most activity seems to center around Easter (March 27 this year).

Welcome!!!

I know that the Beach Club Resort has studios (micro/mini fridge) and they also have 1 and 2 BR villas (full kitchens). The same goes for Old Key West (which is where I'm staying) .

When I checked a few weeks ago there was NOTHING available for the third week in April at Beach Club. You never know though, there could always be cancellations :earsboy: .

I think that the last two weeks are supposed to be less crowded than the first two (so I've been reading).

I hope this helps a little...happy planning!!! :cool1:

As another post stated, most spring breaks take place anywhere during March or April...many around Easter week. From what I have been reading on these boards for the past few months, it appears that most schools in the northeast are going to be off the third week in April. That is when we are off in CT, and most of my nieces all over Massachusettes have that week off as well.

Thank you everyone for all the info. I'm going to call AAA tomorrow and see what they have to offer. Hubby said he saw a TV commercial for a package for family of 4 for $1,500. Anyone know about that?

This is a wonderful site and I'm thrilled to have found such great info!

Hi Karvay,

You are looking at peak season so you better get crackin'! We stayed in a cabin last spring, paying $300 per night. A value resort would be cheaper, but if you don't want that kind of place, and are looking at a moderate, I think the cabins could save you money in the long run because of the food factor. The cabins' kitchens are really full service and you can easily prepare real dinners in them. Plus, they are really quite spacious, sleeping 6 comfortably. They were very quiet at night too, never even knew we had neighbors.
