planning trip for large family

hey all. Looking into planning a trip to disney in 2010 for a family of 13 all of which are over 18. Any ideas on places to stay either hotels or if there are options out there to rent houses. Trying to do trip as cheap as possible to fit everyones budget. Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks

Two years ago I did a trip with 9 family members. I rented a 5 bedroom/3 bath private pool home that was about 15 min from Disney's Main gate. I got it for $700/wk including all taxes and fees from www.vacationrentals.com. It was great! We had plenty of room to spread out, a full kitchen, washer & dryer and our own pool!

We rented two cars so that we could split off and do our own thing if we wanted to and no one had to stay on the same schedule. With 13 of you, I would get either 3 cars or 2 minivans.

When we bought for for the house we just split the bill per person.

On our last visit we stayed in one of the family suites at the All Star Music. It has two bathrooms, a mini kitchen with a coffee maker, microwave, mini frig, & sink, a bedroom, and a living room. We had 4 adults and 3 kids in the family suite. We also had two additional people in another regular room. From the size of your party you may need 2 suites and a regular room?? or 3 suites???

If you are flying to Disney, a bonus for staying on property is not having to rent vehicles as you can use the Disney buses.

I am note sure how the prices of the family suites compare to renting a condo or house but it may be something to check into.

Just be sure to research and weigh all your options: pros and cons.
